Sarah, the wife of Colonel William Barton, Jr. of Prince George's County, Maryland, (1662-1705) was the widow of Basil Waring and daughter of Richard Marsham by Katherine, his first wife. Katherine Barton, daughter of William and Sarah, married Captain John Murdock. A transcript of the will of Colonel William Barton, Jr. identifies his heir as John Waring of the Waring family of Prince George County, instead of John Warren. Also he was quoted as requesting his father William Barton to leave my wife, executrix of his estate (as he had formerly left me).
