Rose, Clerk, executors of the last will and testament of Alexander Spotswood, late of Orange County, Esq., to Bryant Sisson. Lease of 150 acres in St. Mark's Parish on the south side of the River Rapidarine, part of 40,000 acres granted to Alexander Spotswood and called the Spotsylvania Tract ... For lives of William Sisson and Caleb Sisson (his sons). Rent, 750 pounds of tobacco, due 25 Dec. 1743.
Sisson shall within four years plant 300 good fruit trees, one-third apple trees, and the same inclose with a fence and keep buildings and fences in repair and shall not work more than six laboring hands ...

THIS INDENTURE made this 15 day of June one thousand seven hundred & Eighty nine Between JOSEPH PORTER & ELIZABETH his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and WILLIAM SISSON of County of ORANGE of other part; Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of Thirty two pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid, have bargained sold & confirmed unto WILLIAM SISSON his heirs a certain parcel of land containing by estimation One hundred & fifty acres & bounded, Begining at four small Pines in MADISONs line, corner to BENJAMIN LOWEN, thence North 24d. East 132 poles t~ one red Oak & pile of Stones in MADISONs line, thence North 62 degrees West 180 poles to two white Oaks in steep bottom, corner to JOHN WRIGHT, thence with his line South thirty degrees West 139 poles to three Pines in said line, corner to BENJAMIN LOWEN, & thence with his line South 62 degrees East 194 poles to the begining; Together with all houses fences orchards md all other appurtenances belonging; To have and to hold the land & premises from ail incumbrances of Mortgages dowers & reversions to the only use of said WILLIAM SISSON his heirs; As Witness our hands and seals the day &year above written Seated & Delivered in presence of
