Maddox. At the residence of his father, William Maddox, Esq. of this city, on the night of the 9th instant
after a very short illness and in the 16th year of his age, James Monroe Maddox; leaving an affectionate
father and mother, brothers and sisters, and a numerous circle of juvenile and other friends to mourn his
untimely end. It is, however, a great consolation to those who witnessed his departure from "this vale of
woe" and will be gratifying to his distant friend to know, that he saw his approaching dissolution without
dismay, resigning himself with entire submission to the will of his Divine Creator.
