      1767-1769 Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records Liber BB 2 [Abstract by Mike Marshall]; Page 42. At the request of Elizabeth Lamphier the following Deposition was recorded June 24, 1767
      The deposition of Elizabeth Lamphier, widow and relict of Thomas Lamphier, deceased aged about 63 years saith that she is a daughter to Robert Going and Mary Going his wife who was a daughter to Gregory Rowe both deceased by whom he had 4 sons and 3 daughters, to wit, John Going, Philip Going, James Going, and Mary Going, Sarah Going, Robert Going and this deponent Elizabeth Lamphier. This deponent further saith that John Going the eldest son left Ireland when this deponent was a child and returned some years after and said a year or thereabouts from whence he went to England and she believes he married at Plymouth and after his marriage came to Ireland to see his relations and returned to his wife and children. Philip Going the second son married Sarah Pike who died and after her death married Mary Knight who also died and then he married Susanna Godding. Jame Going the same son married Dorothy Tyeney who died and after her death he remarried to Elizabeth Kyle. Mary Going the first daughter married James Walpole. Robert Going the last son married Jane Johnstone. Sarah Going the second daughter married Richard Franklin an attorney. and this deponent further saith that all her brother and sisters except Mary Going and her husband James Walpole were living in County Tipperary, Ireland when she left Ireland. And further saith that she married Thomas Lamphier at Lisvernane, County Tipperary who was son to Thomas Lamphier of the said County and Elizabeth Kyle his wife daughter to Mr. Kyle. And further saith her father Robert Going and two brothers and one sister, viz, Richard going, Mary going and James going and that Richard going married and lived in Bristol, Mary Going married E. White who is now dead and that James Going lived in Clonmel and had one son Richard Going and 3 daughters Mary Going Rebecca Going and Susanna Going who were living and Mary except Susanna. And further saith that the said Richard Going was Mayor of Clonmel when she left Ireland as his father James Going had been several times before. And further saith that her mother's sister Sarah Rowe was married to John Bagwell and had one son and 2 daughters, viz, John Bagwell, Mary Bagwell and Sarah Bagwell. And further saith that John Bagwell was a banker and merchant in the town of Clonmel. And further saith that Thomas Lamphier this deponent's husband was refuted son to Thomas Lamphier of the said County of Tipperary and that he lived at Carrigeen when she married him. And that the said Thomas Lamphier had by his wife Elizabeth Kyle 4 sons and 3 daughters, to wit, Elizabeth Lamphier who married John Burgess, William Lamphier, Mary Lamphier who married Joseph Tinson, Joseph Lamphier, Thomas Lamphier (this deponent's husband), John Lamphier and Sarah Lamphier. And further saith that Henry Burgess son to John Burgess who married Elizabeth Lamphier was a clothier by trade and came with his uncle Thomas Lamphier this deponent's husband and the rest of the family to America which said Henry Burgess died a few years ago as this deponent understood by a letter from his widow to John Patterson this deponent son-in-law informing him of the said Henry Burgess's death and also that he left 6 children, 3 of them were by a former wife. And further saith that William Lamphier eldest son to Thomas Lamphier, Sr., married Elizabeth Lane sister to Ambrose Lane of Lane's Park which said Elizabeth is since dead as she understood by a letter written by William Lamphier to his brother Thomas Lamphier this deponent's husband and also that he had married one Evans. And further saith that Mary Lamphier daughter to Thomas Lamphier, Sr., married Joseph Tinson son to Joseph Tinson of Orchard Town near Clonmell and that after the said Mary's death that he married Garter Hunt, daughter to John Hunt of Clonag.. And further saith that Joseph Lamphier married Elizabeth Bradshaw daughter to Robert Bradshaw of the County of Limerick. And further saith that William Lamphier and Joseph Lamphier and their wives, John Burgess and his wife, Joseph Tinson and his 2nd wife Garter Tinson, John Lamphier who was unmarried were all alive when she left the kingdom of Ireland. And further saith that Sarah Lamphier died of the smallpox before she left the said kingdom and that Thomas Lamphier, Sr., and Elizabeth Lamphier his wife allowed themselves to be sponsors for her when she was baptized in that the said Thomas Lamphier, Sr., died August before this deponent left the said kingdom of Ireland and the aforesaid town of Carrigeen leaving his widow Elizabeth to the care of their son John Lamphier who was making preparation to move to a farm called Park Town. And further saith that she together with her husband Thomas Lamphier and the rest of the family left the kingdom of Ireland in the year 1738. And further saith that Going Lamphier, Susanna Going married John Patterson and Venus Lamphier are lawful children of the said Thomas Lamphier's begotten on this deponents body. Going Lamphier and Susanna Patterson who are now living in Fairfax County, Virginia and Venus Lamphier in the province of Maryland. Taken before us two of the lordships justices of the peace for PGCo this August 8, 1767, Joshua Beall, George Hardey, Jr.
