Charles County Land Records 1775-1782; Liber V#3; Page 156. Dec 16, 1776 from George Gantt of Prince Georges County, planter, to John Boone of Prince Georges County, planter, for 116 £2 shillings and pence sterling, two tracts of land in CC, that is to say, part of Gantts Enlargement Enlarged, which land is bounded by the main branch of Mattawoman [Cr], containing about 188 acres. Also part of a tract of land contiguous to the above, called Dukes Delight, bounded by a branch of Mattawoman, containing about 56 acres. Signed - George Gantt, Wit - Thos Gantt Jr, Truman Skinner (Prince Georges County JPs), Hannah Gantt, the wife of the sd George Gantt, relinquished her right of dower to the lands within mentioned. Certified by Thos Sim Clk of Prince Georges County, that the afd witnesses are JPs for sd county. Recorded may 20, 1777.

I Hannah Gantt wife of George Gantt, Gentleman in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and do bear to my daughter Ann Whyte have given by these presents Negro woman Sarah, mullato boy Daniel, Negro boy Mentor, Negro girl Phebe and Negro girl Fanny, 1 mahogany desk and bookcase with glass doors, 18 day clock with mahogany case, 1 pair of large mahogany framed looking glass, 1 small mahogany framed looking glass, one other mahogany framed looking glass with brass branches, one mahogany oval dining table, one smaller mahogany dining table, 1 mahogany card table, 1 mahogany tea table, 1 mahogany easy chair, one mahogany chest of drawers, 1 dozen walnut chairs, 2 walnut armed chairs of same pattern, one post bedstead with blue painted cotton curtains, feather bed and bolster pillows blankets and furniture complete, one other high post bedstead with dark calico curtains, feather bed and bolster pillows blankets and furniture complete, 1 large silver spoon, 8 silver table spoons, one silver pint can. All which Negroes goods and chattles are my sole and separate property subject together with all other Negroes and chattles to my disposal notwithstanding Mike overture by virtue of certain articles of agreement made and concluded and agreed upon between the said George Gantt, myself and Charles Grahame of Calvert County, Maryland merchant on April 5, 1773. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this February 12, 1777, Hanna Gantt in the presence of Priscilla Gantt, Thomas Gantt, Jr. and acknowledged before Thomas Gantt, Jr.

I Hannah Gantt wife of George Gantt, Gentleman in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and do bear to my daughter in Harwood have given by these presents Negro man Tom, Negro boy Tobit and Negro woman Frank all which Negroes are my sole and separate property in subject to my disposal notwithstanding my coverture by virtue of certain articles of agreement made and concluded between George Gantt and myself and Charles Grahame, merchant of Calvert County, Maryland on April 5, 1773. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this May 10, 1779, Hanna Gantt in the presence of and acknowledged before Alexander Howard Magruder
