Montgomery County Land Records, 1777-1781; Liber A1, Page 334. Deed of gift, recorded at the request of Caleb Griffith. We, Greenberry Griffith and. Ruth Griffith of M, for the love we have for our son, Caleb Griffith of M, we give to sd Caleb Griffith all that part of a tract of land called the Cow Pasture, bounded by the parts of this tract sold to Mr. Charles Worthington, Howard Griffith's part of sd tract, containing 202 acres. We have put Caleb Griffith into peaceable possession of the afd land. Signed Aug 21, 1779 - Greenr Griffith, Ruth (X her mark) Griffith. Wit - Joseph Wilson*, George Cullom*. I, Greenberry Griffith of M, for the love I have for my son, John Riggs Griffith of M, I give him the rest of my tract of land called the Cow Pasture which is not already deeded to my sons, Howard and Caleb, containing about 200 acres, and lays adjoining the lands called the Resurvey of Brook Grove. I just put sd John Riggs Griffith into peaceable possession of the afd tract of land by the delivering to him at the ensealing of these presents, 1 coined piece of silver called 12 pence sterling.
