20 September 1722. Will of Dorothy Spiller of Westmoreland County. Presented by Benjamin Berryman, Gent. and proved by the oaths of the witnesses on 31 October 1722. Recorded 9 November 1722. Legacies:
(1) to "my little companion" William Berryman son of Benjamin Berryman, a good featherbed bolster and pillow, a pair of blankets, a good quilt and piece of good sheeting lining, the best curtains and vallins, a large brass kettle, a large bell, metal morter and pistol, a dripping pan, an iron spit, an iron rack, pot and hoods, a pair of andirons, a large pair of fire tongs, four pewter dishes, six pewter plates, a mare and colt named "Squicker" and her future increase, two young cows, five ewes "which I have already given to his father possession for the use of the said Berryman;" a small new bed bolster and pillow "which I have nearly made," a small quilt with a small bedstead, "a new bedstead I have paid William KnowIon for which he owes me, one small chest, a cupboard and the half of what new goods I have in my chests" and also "all my money I have ready by me, ail money debts due to me all tobacco due to me which tobacco I appoint to be spent on his schooling; also a large gold ring and my morning pan;
(2) to Benjamin Berryman father of said William Berryman, confirms the gift she gave to him of the net of all cattle, sheep and hogs which is in his possession and which she delivered "some time ago."
(3) wearing clothes to be divided between granddaughters Verlinda and Jane and that "my friend" Mrs. Berryman to "have the same as she thinks fit";
(4) Remainder of estate to grandchildren Verlinda, Jane and John when they come to full age or marry, executor to choose four discreet people to divide the same;
(5) friend Benjamin Berryman, executor.

20 October 1722. Inventory of the estate of Dorothy Spiller. See her will on page 131-132 of this record book, in which she left sundry items of personal property to William Berryman, son of Benjamin Berryman. Returned by Benjamin Berryman, Gent. on 27 March 1723. Recorded 6 April 1723. The inventory is written in narrative form, and no items were given a value. Items included £12 cash in the house, 8 pairs of mens' and womens' shoes; 22 yards of crepe, 24 yards of silk; 24 yards of woosted; linen; 61 yards of ozenbrigg, table cloths, napkins, beds, furniture, two old horses, a young mare, fire tongs, and other miscellaneous items.
