      I William Bright in consideration of 6166 pounds of crop tobacco and 5 pounds 8 shillings and eight pence sterling has sold unto Samuel Roundell and Company part of a tract called "Anchovie Hills" whereon I now dwell containing 120 acres and Negro woman Jenny, provided nevertheless, that if I the said William Bright shall well and truly pay unto Samuel Roundell and Company the said sum of tobacco on Patuxent River in hogheads of 950 neat and money with legal interest on September 1st next then this Bill of Sale to be void. Recorded abt November 27, 1751; Memorandum that on the special petition of Samuel Roundell preferred to the justices of Prince George's County, Maryland on the 4th Tuesday in March in the 36th year of his Lordship commission the Right Hon. the Lord Proprietory Dominion etc., his Lordship commission issued by order of the justices aforesaid out of the county aforesaid on the 30th day of March Anno Domine 1751. In these words following, Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Province of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore Vizt; to Messrs Thomas Hodgkin, William Bowie, Allen Bowie and Lingan Willson of PGCo gentleman, whereas Samuel Roundell is seized of a tract called "Hargrove" and preferred his petition in writing to our county court held at Upper Marlborough Town before Edward Sprigg gentleman and his associates then and still justices within our county to examine evidence to prove and perpetuate the memory of the bounds of the said tracts of land.       June 6, 1751; Capt. John Smith, gentleman aged 42 years being sworn declares that some time after he intermarried with the relict of Mr Gunder Erickson, deceased, Mr. Alexander Contee, late deceased had a commission issuing out the county court aforesaid to perpetuate the bounds of his land and that he this examinant understood that a beech tree standing by a spring branch called Bromley's Spring Branch was proved by the testimony of Francis Sandsbury, decd to be a bounded tree of a tract called "Hargrove" on which he this examinant imagining he might lose ground, obtained a commission to prove the bounds of a tract called "The Farm" he was in possession of. On executing the commission the aforesaid Sandsbury was present and declared that if he formerly proved the aforesaid beech tree to be a corner tree of the land called "Hargrove" he was in his dotage but believed it might be a line tree of the aforesaid tract and further saith not, John Smith.       June 6, 1751; Roger John Saucer [sic Sasser], planter, aged 82 years being sworn declares that Mr John Whightt, [sic Wight] deceased told him that a bounded white oak marked with 12 notches standing by a branch at the head of Deep Creek now called Spicers Creek and which we are now present was a bound tree of his land and also a bound tree of Mr. Richard Beavan and the Reverend Robert Owen, both deceased and further saith not, Roger John Saucer.       June 6, 1751; Richard Beavan of Charles County, Maryland, planter, aged 45 years, being sworn declares that a beech tree standing by the side of a branch called Bromley's Spring Branch at which tree is a large Hallon {Rasberry} and which we are now present at his father Mr. Richard Beavan, deceased, who was in possession of a tract called "Hargrove" told him he was the beginning tree of the aforesaid land and that his father also told him that a point of land lying between the branch where the aforesaid beech tree stands and to a small branch and lying to the westward thereof was "The Farm" land.       June 21, 1751; Mr. William Neall of PGCo, planter, aged 46 years being sworn declares that a beech treen standing by the side of a small branch and marked CB and which we are present at that Richard Beavan, deceased, about 15 years ago told him that the said beech tree was the beginning tree of his the said Beavan's land called "Hargrove". Then we were carried by the examinant to a bounded white oak marked with 12 notches standing by a branch at the head of Deep Creek now called Spicers Creek and which we are now present at, Saith that Richard Beavan deceased told him this deponent that the said tree was a bounded tree of his land called "Hargrove" and at the same time shewed him the line as run from said tree between him and the land belonging to John Wight, deceased called "The Gore" and the reason this deponent saith of his shewing him the tree and the line was that he this deponent being an overseer to Mrs. Wight, widow of the aforesaid John Wight wanting logs for use of Mr. Wight's plantation desired he might know this line that he might not trespass on the said land called "Hargrove" and futher saith not, William Neal.       Indenture made July 6, 1752; Henry Darnall and Ann Darnall his wife and Henry Darnall, Jr., in consideration of 5 shillings current money of Maryland paid by Samuel Roundell have demised and granted to farm let a tract called "The Addition" on which Henry Darnall, Jr., lately dwelt containing 200 acres and whereon his dwelling house now stands lying on the side of the main branch of Piscataway Creek. To have and to hold for 21 years from the date hereof paying yearly 1 peppercorn if demanded. I, Samuel Swann of CC, for 35 £, sell to Samuel Roundell, 3 cows and 3 yearlings, marked with a crop in the right ear; 3 cows, 1 steer, 2 yearlings and 1 calf marked with a crop and 2 slits in the left ear, and a crop and under bit in the right ear; also 3 sows and 10 shoats & 7 barrows with the same mark; 2 bay mares branded on the near buttock T; 1 gray horse branded on the near buttock shoulder SS; 1 bay colt, not docked or branded; also 2 feather beds, 2 rugs, 2 blankets, 2 iron pots, 12 pewter plates, 3 pewter dishes, and 2 large pewter basins. Aug 27, 1755 from Thomas Grimes of Prince Georges County, to Samuel Roundel (Roundell [sic]) of the same County, for 4000 lbs of tobacco and 2 £10 shillings, part of a tract of land called Taylors Cort, lying in Prince Georges County between the North Branch of Swanstons Cr and the Aquasco Manor, bounded by the NE corner tree of a parcel of land surveyed for George Lingan Esq decd, thence with the line of a parcel of land called Poplar Hill, containing about 111 acres.       Indenture made October 5, 1761; Samuel Roundell, merchant in consideration of 250 pounds sterling paid by George Naylor and Baston Naylor has sold a tract called "Hargrove" lying on the west side of Beaven's Spring Branch (except 5 acres which was sold out by Richard Bevan unto the Rev. Mr. Robert Owen and about 27 acres sold by Samuel Roundell unto Thomas Baden lying on the south east side of the main road from Nottingham to the Brick Church and bounded by the road as the road runs).
