      Wm. Thomas his sale of land to Hulet and Woodes
      I William Thomas do acknowledge to have sold unto John Hulet and Charles Woodes a parcel or tract of land containing two hundred acres in and for the consideration of one thousand pounds of tobacco and cask which land the said Hulet and Woodes is to make there of out of four hundred acres provided that they begin at one side either above or below which land lyeth on the Southside of Great Wicocomocoe River opposite to the point commonly caIled,"SaffaIls Point" and do bind myself to secure and defend the said land unto the said Hulet and Woodes from any person that shall lay any title or claim there unto and likewise to acknowledge this deed in court witness my hand December 10th 1652. [-----] Thomas and me Thomas Kedby the mark of Anthony Linton likewise I the said Wm. Thomas do by these presents bind me my heirs, extrs, admtrs and assignees to confirm and make good the said land within specified onto the said Hulet and Woodes their heirs, extrs, admtrs or assignees forever as witness my hand this 10th day of December 1652.

      Thomas Gaskins his depo.
      The deposition of Thomas Gaskins aged 52 years or there abouts sworn and examined and saith that John Hulet and Wm. Thomas being at Thomas Gaskins his house and fell out at words and the said William Thomas called John Hulet rogue and common rogue and said that he would prove him a rogue and if he did he would have him marked for a rogue and in that should before he came from court and that he fled out of Virginia about the death of his wife or else he might have been hanged and that he was accounted a Town Bull and further saith not.

      Know all men by these presents that I William Spicer do constitute and ordain John Hulett my true and lawfull attorney for me and in my name to sue Martin Cole or Mr. Hawley for a bill due to me with as much power as if I myself were present, witness my hand this 6th day of January 1655.

      To all etc. whereas etc. Now know you that the said Edward Digges Esq. do with the consent of the Council of State accordingly give and grant unto John Palmer three hundred acres of land situated in the County of Northumberland Southerly bounding upon Wicocomoco Creek Easterly upon the land of John Hulitt Westerly and Northerly upon the main woods. The said land being due unto the said John Palmer by and for the transportation of six persons into this colony whose names are in the records mentioned under this pattent etc.

      - Whereas JOHN HUGHLET was indicted ( ) & by a Grand Jury founde guilty of Theft in receavinge goods of ye valew of two thousand two hundred pounds of tobacco to ( ) DAN: HOLLAND, who stood indicted for ye fel( ) killing of a Cowe of JOHN GIBSONs. It is ordered yt: ye sd. HUGHLET forthvth: pay ye Fine of five thousand pounds of tobacco & caske; but in consideracon of ye said HUGHLETs poverty & charge, & by reason yt: sd HUGHLET was seduced by ye instigacon of Mr. WM.       JOHN HUGHLETT Exec'r of JOHN HUGHLETT dec'ed haveing Exhibited a Bill in Chancery ag't JOSEPH FRANKLIN and SUSANNAH his wife late SUSANNAH HUGHLETT Exec'x of the said dec'ed for the paym't of Diverse Commodities withheld by the said SUSANNAH belonging to the said JOHN and whereas MARGARETT CHAPMAN hath in court made Oath that the said SUSANNAH did detayne from the said JOHN a kutt wastcoat One Shirt two Capps two Yarne one pair of thread hose two handkerchefes two neckcloaths Six flitches's of Bacon part of a hogg dryed and same [of] dryed beefe Eight bushel's of Beanes five bushel's of wheat Twenty barrel's of Indian Corne Ten Lights now glass and two hives of bees all which Comodities were Vallued by JOHN BAILY THOMAS BARNES and JOHN SOUTHERLAND (appointed by the Court to Vallue the same) to the sum'e of two thousand Eight hundred and Seventy pounds of Tobacco Judgm't is granted the said HUGHLETTs Exec. as afores'd for the paym't of One thousand Eight hundred thirty five pounds of Tobacco the Moyety of the said sum'e with Costs al's Ex'o.
