Elizabeth MARSHALL. She was the daughter of 2. Thomas Hanson MARSHALL and 3. Rebecca DENT. She married John FORBES 23 Apr 1782, son of James FORBES and Jane SMITH. He was born 19 Mar 1757, and died 31 Dec 1804 in Benedict,,MD. He was buried in The Plains, Golden Beach, MD.

i. James FORBES was born 11 Mar 1783. He married Ellen LANE 1805.
ii. Thomas FORBES was born 29 May 1785, and died 3 Feb 1807 in Swanson's Creek, Benedict, MD.
iii. John FORBES was born Jan 1787, and died 19 Mar 1818.
iv. Rebecca Anne Maria FORBES was born Jul 1789. She married James Forbes SOTHORON 8 Oct .
v. Eliza Jane FORBES was born 2 Jul 1792, and died 9 Sep 1814 in New York. She married Thomas JENNIFER in New York.
vi. George FORBES was born 2 Apr 1794, and died 5 Mar 1877 in Benedict,Charles Co.,MD.
vii. Eliza FORBES was born 2 Apr 1797, and died 3 Oct 1828. She married William PLATER. She married Horatio MCELDERRY.
viii. Maria FORBES was born 19 Sep 1803, and died 17 Sep 1805.

I, John Forbes of Benedict of CC, being sick of body, but of sound and perfect memory and understanding;
To wife Elizabeth Forbes, all my estate real, personal and mixed, all debts due and owing to me whether on open account or in bonds, notes mortages, leases or any other lawful obligatory writing.
To son John Forbes, my broach and sleeve buttons.
To son George Forbes, my gold watch.
As my worldly transactions are both intricate and numerous, I recommend that my son John Forbes be employed to aid and assist in the settlement of my affairs

State of Maryland Charles County Sst This Indenture made this Twenty third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and two Between John Forbes of the County and State afsd of the one part and John Truman Hawkins of St Marys County of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred and fifty pounds Current money, all that Lott or parcel of Land lying in Charles County being pt of two Lotts viz; of Lott Number eighteen in Benedict Leonard Town and of a Lott called the Warehouse Lott [formerly conveyed by Charles Somerset Smith to George Maxwell the 14th day of Jun Anno Domini 1764] and adjoining the west side of said Lott No18. /s/ John Forbes: Wit: Alexr McPherson, Henry A Smith;

At the request of Samuel Bond & Elizabeth Forbes the following Marriage Contract was recorded August 17, 1807
Indenture of 4 parts made June 8, 1807, between Samuel Bond of Prince George's County, Maryland of the 1st part, Elizabeth Forbes of CC of the 2nd part, Thomas Marshall of Marshall Hall and John Forbes of CC of the 3rd part, and James Forbes, John Forbes, George Forbes, James Forbes Sothoron, and Rebecca Ann Maria Sothoron his wife, Jane Forbes and Elizabeth Forbes all our children of Elizabeth Forbes first above named of the 4th part. Whereas a marriage is agreed upon and intended to be shortly and solemnized between Samuel Bond and Elizabeth Forbes and that all the estate as well real and personal belonging to Elizabeth Forbes either in law or in equity should be conveyed to Thomas Marshall and John Forbes to the uses upon the trusts for the intents and purposes and subject to the powers provisions declarations and agreements herein after limited expressed and declared. Now this indenture witnesseth that in pursuance and performance of the said above mentioned agreement and in consideration of the intended marriage and for conveying settling and assuring all the estate as well real and personal in law or equity of Elizabeth Forbes in consideration of 5 dollars and in consideration of the natural love and affection which Elizabeth Forbes has to her aforesaid children and for diverse other good causes and valuable considerations her Elizabeth Forbes hereunto moving has sold unto Thomas Marshall and John Forbes the lands tenements and hereditaments lying in CC, St. Mary's County, Maryland and Prince George's County, Maryland and also all the Negroes horses cattle sheep and hogs household and other furniture money tobacco produce merchandise stock in trade debts accounts claims and demands dues and other chattels and personal property possessed claimed by due and owing to her in trust so that they can pay off all debts and owing for which she is liable on her own account or on account of her late deceased husband and the residue after paying 2000 dollars to Samuel Bond to be distributed to her children party of the 4th part.
