Incidentally, Shirley, I agree that George Hardy 3rd was probably the one who married Lucy Dent. In the records, it shows "George Hardy 3rd" in two probate documents that I know of, both before the first George Hardy died before 13 Feb 1758. After that (including in the 26 Jun 1758 probate of his uncle William Hardy), he becomes "George Hardy, Jr.". I May be wrong about that, but all of the docs I've seen follow that pattern.

Henry Wilcoxen s/o Thomas Wilcoxen and wife Elizabeth Hardy (they are named in the lease also) and Elizabeth Hardy the dau of Wm Hardy, who is the bro of both the above Geo Jr and Elizabeth. This Wm was married to Elizabeth Lanham. He died bef this lease, so bef. 27 Jun 1753 and his wife had died aft. 5 Oct 1761

Indenture made June 27, 1753; Benjamin Calvert, Esq. of the city of Annapolis in consideration of 5 shillings sterling paid by George Hardy, planter of PGCo as also in consideration of the rents covenants hereafter in these presents mentioned have demised and to farm let by these presents part of a tract called "Lordships Kindness" containing 100 acres and beginning on the north side of the road that leads to Broad Creek and the beginning tree of the land whereon Hardy now lives for and during the natural life of Lucy Hardy wife of George Hardy, Jr. and for and during the natural life of Henry Wilcoxen, son of Thomas Wilcoxon by Elizabeth Wilcoxon his wife and for and during the natural life of Elizabeth Hardy daughter of William Hardy, deceased paying yearly the rent of 1 pound 10 shillings sterling money and two capons at the use of the Nativity of our blessed Lord and Savior at some place within 10 miles of the said land. Further George Hardy shall within 10 years from the date of hereof make upon some convenient place of fence standing orchard with 200 Apple trees.
