      In the name of God, Amen, This 10th day of June 1779, I, Mary Marshall of Charles County, Maryland, Being in perfect health of body and of perfect senses, thanks be given unto God, thereore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of God that give it and I recommend my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise, and propose of the same in the following manner and form:
      Item: I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter, Mary Scott during her natural life the plantation wheron I now live.
      Item: I give and bequath to my well beloved son, William Marshall after his sister, Mary Scott's decease, the above mentioned plantation on which I now live and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever. I also give to my son, William, one nego named "John".
      Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson, Richard Marshall, son of my son Richard Marshall, one negro woman and her youngest child.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my son Robert Marshall, all the residue of my estate, to him and his heirs forever.
      Lastly: I do hereby nominate, ordain, and appoint my son, Robert Marshall, to be my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow, revode and disannul all and every forms, testaments, wills, legaceys, bequaths, and executors by me in anyways before named, willed or bequathed, satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament, in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

      Signed, sealed, pronounced, and declared by the said Mary Marshall as her last will & testament in the prsence of James Cottrell, Hery Gody, Matthew (x) Gody.

      Jun 8, 1748 from Richard Marshall of CC, Gent:, to William Robinson (Robertson) of CC, blacksmith, for 900 lbs tobacco, and for divers other good causes, all that part of that tract of land in CC, called Long Acre, originally granted to Christopher Kerkley, and bounded by Thomas Cottrell Spring, a tract of land formerly surveyed for William Marshall and now in the possession of Richard Marshall, Benjamin Fendall, and John Marshall, Gentlemen, containing and laid out for about 16 acres.       Charles County Land Record Book A#2, 1752-1756; Page 26 (27). Bond. We, John Scott, Alexander McFarlang of CC, Merchants, & Mary Marshall of CC, bind ourselves this May 27, 1752 to Walter Brock of Glasgow. Merchant, in the sum of 2000 sterling, to be paid to sd Brock or to Walter Hanson, his attorney in fact here. Whereas sd John Scott owes sd Brock a certain sum of money by an account & have this day agreed with Walter Hanson's attorney in fact for sd Brook, to give up all the debts that is now due to him in discharge of the afd account as sd debts amount to, now the condition of this bond is such that if sd Scott shall, within a month of today, deliver to ad Hanson, a book of accounts containing all his dealings in Maryland and Virginia fairly adjusted, settled, and proved, and execute any other instrument of writing that sd Hanson shall judge necessary, the better to enable him to recover the several debts appearing by the sd books to be justly due, & also assign to sd Hanson, when required, for the use of sd Brock, all bonds, judgments, & other obligations where all or any part of the same is due, and that any debts he may receive, he shall pay to Hanson for the use of Brock, then this deed to he void.       Upon the bond being complied with, I hereby promise, in behalf of Mr. Walter Brock, to pay the several persons above mentioned the debts that are due, and I also promise to pay out of sd book debts, four or five thousand lbs of tobacco to Archabald Henderson, and all balances that appear by the books to be due to such planters as have dealt with sd Mr. John Scott for tobacco.
