      He was transported into the Province of Maryland from Virginia around 1652 by John Billingsby (Patents 5:418). Major John Billingsby was a Virginia merchant who obtained his Maryland land in 1652 (Patents ABH: 213).

      In Maryland on 1/24/1662/1663 PETER JOY demanded 50 acres for his service(carpenter), so his term of indentured servitude to MAJOR JOHN BILLINGSBY was about 10 years (Patent 5: 418)."
