It appears to me that both John the millwright d. 1827 and Thomas (d.1812), his brother, both had eldest daughters named JANE. It would be fairly safe to asssume their MOTHER was Jane_____?

Nothing is clearer than that the children of John fled from Mason County (and from Tryphosa) as soon as they were of age and some went to their siblings in Harrison Co. If you want to get into a real mess, get into the Harrison County records. I spent more time there than anywhere else. I identified FIVE Marshall families there, no two of which I could connect together. I did research on Sharp(e) there.
      Nothing conclusive

I am going to have to get out my notes which I doubt I can still read.
I do note you believe that Thomas (K2) (b. ca. 1738) was the YOUNGEST son of William Sr (d. 1757) . I can' t remember what mental gymnasticsI went thru to conclude that my John (K3), millwright, was born about 1748, so he was much the younger. And I figured there had to be more siblings somewhere to fill in the gap. Have you found a William Jr. to go with William Sr. Where did this William Sr. die.?
