      pp. 69-70 THIS INDENTURE made this Seaventeenth day of November 1687 Betweene MARY REVETT Widdow & Relict of JONAH REVETT late of County of Stafford Planter Deced of one part and CAPT. GEORGE BRENT of said County. Whereas Sr. WM. BERKELEY Lieut. Governor & Capin Generall of Virginia by his Letters Pattent undr the Seale of' the Cottony beareing date the first day of June 1663 give &Grants unto Mr. ISAAC WATSON & MR. SAMUELL MOTTERSHED four hundred acres of land situate in WESTMORELAND COUNTY bounded on the South East syde with the land of EDWD. PARKER West Southwest to the Woods NNE upon the head of a Creeke which boundeth this land and a tract of one thousand acres of Mr. VALLENTINE PEYTON, and downe the said Creeke to the place where the tract first began the said land being formerly granted to RICHD. FITZHUGH of ye aforesaid County doe by these presents sell unto ye said WILLM FITZHUGH his heires forever a tract of land in Stafford County contininge Three or Four hundred acres Descending and comeinge to me JONAH REVETT as Son and heire of my Father JONAH REVETT late of this County the said land being part of a Pattent of Sixteene hundred acres of land granted to JERVAS DODSON the first of February 1650 Ye Patent being bounded Buttinge Easterly upon POTOMACK RIVER Southerly upon ye main Woods and said Three or Four hundred acres of land part thereof being granted by ye said DODSON to ye said REVETT Deced by a Deed bearing date 29th of October 1653 and bounding West upon ye land Pattented by STEPHEN NORMAN South upon ye mouth of MACHODICK RIVER North Easterly upon a small Creek well divides it from ye rest of ye said Sixteene hundred acres wch said Bounds more particularly the divideing line between DODSON & NORMANs Patents & which is now in possession of VINCENT YOUNGE by an able Jury of ye Neighbourhood and Two Surveyors Mr. GEORGE BRENT and Mr. WILLIAM HORTEN berg appointed by the Generall Court who did betwixt that and September following Court In Obedience thereunto lay out ye said land and make report thereof in September Generall Court 1681 which said Survey and Re-port of ye jury and Surveyr was confirmed in said Court and farther expressed in ye Order to bee a finall Intermicmacon of all matters about their said Bounds w oh said Order report-and Survey is further confirmed also by an Order of ye General! RICHARD GIBSON humbly complaining sheweth that JONAH REVET at the time of his death stood indebted to the Plt the sum of six thousand and cask by bill and account .. he hath brought his action against HENRY MEREST who intermarried with the relict and administratrix of the said Revet .. And now forasmuch as Richard Gibson did not appear in this Court to prosecute his action Therefore tis ordered Richard Gibson shall be nonsuite and shall pay Henry Merest the sum fifty pounds of tobacco with costs.

Know ye for valuable consideration already reced from THOMAS GILSON of Westmoreland County .. have sold tract of land being in aforesaid county containing by estimation 300 acres accruing to me by a Deed of Feoffment from JONAS RIVETT of county Stafford, son and heir of Jonas Rivett late of this county deced the said land being part of a pattenc of 1600 acres granted to GERVAS DODSON the 1st Feby. 1650 the pattent being bounded easterly upon Potomack River southerly upon the mouth of upper Machotick westerly and northerly upon the main woods the said 300 acres being part granted 29th October 1653 and bounded upon the lands pattented by STEPHEN NORMAN south upon the mouth of Machotick River North Easterly upon a small creek which divides it from the rest of the 1000 acres .. Normans pattent which is now in possession of VINCENT YOUNG by an able jury of the neighbourhood & two surveyors GEO. BRENT and WM. HORTON being appointed by the General Court ..
