      Robert Gill Sr's Will. May 19, 1778.
      I, Robert Gill of CC, am sick and weak in body, but of firm and perfect memory. First, I want all my just debts paid by my executrix.
      To my son Robert Gill - all that part of a tract of land which I purchased of Joseph and James Anderson, lying in cc, called Fox's Range, containing, by deed, 165-1/4 acres, My son Robert is to receive no part of my personal estate more than he has already received.
      To my wife Lydia Gill - the use of the land and plantation I now live on, which I bought of Jonathan Willson, called black Oack Thicket, containing, by deed, 250 acres, during her natural life, and the third part of my personal estate. After her death, her third part is to be divided between the children of her body.
      To my 2 sons, Charles and Henry Gill - after my wife's death, I want the afd land and improvements sold and the purchase money equally divided between them.
      To my 3 daughters, Mary, Elizabeth, and Elenor Lyons - 20 less than the rest of my children which are now with me, out of my estate, they having recd the value thereof. Negro boy Ben, which I lent to my daughter, Mary Lyon and which is now in her possession, is to be appraised with the rest of my estate, she having liberty to keep sd Negro on paying to my estate the balance of his value, if any, over her part, with the rest of my younger children.
      To "the five daughters which is now to wit" Catherine, Cloe, Lydia, Charity, Susanah - a side saddle bought by my executrix or 5 each, paid out of my estate. Executrix: my wife, Lydia Gill.

      Probated May 19, 1778 by all 3 witnesses. The probate was taken in the presence of Robert Gill, heir at law to the decd, who did not object to the taking of the same.
      Lydia Gill, the widow, on May 19, 1778 came before Walter Hanson, Register of Wills, and elected to abide by the several legacies bequeathed to her in the will with regard to real estate only, and that she claims her dower, or third part, in the personal estate.

Securities = George Beech and Robert Gill of CC. Bond = 3000 Appraisers: Jno Moran and Huet Johnson. Money & tobacco entered but not run out. Aug 23, 1778, the inventory received, amounting to 598 7 shillings 6 pence. Additional inventory recd Dec 19, 1778.

      At the request of Nehemiah Gibbons the following Bill of Sale was recorded this 9th day of October Anno Domini 1793 State of Maryland Sst: Know all men by these present that I George Burroughs of Saint Mary's County for and inconsideration of the sumt of hundred and forty pouns current money
      to me in hand paid by Nehemiah Gibbins of Charles County the Receipt whereof I do acknowledge have bargain'd sold and delivered and by theas presents do bargain sell and deliver unto the said Nehemiah Gibbons one negrow Man named John To have and to Hold the said bargained neagrow unto the said Nehemiah Gibbons his Executors Administrators and Assigns forever and I the said George Burroughs for myself my Executors and Administrators shall and will warrent and defend against all persons by these present the said bargained neagrow unto the said Nehemiah Gibbons his Executors Administrators and Assigns In Wintess whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty seventh day of Septempber seventeen hundred & ninety three
