      Will of TOWNSHEND DADE.
      I TOWNSHEND DADE the Elder of Fairfax County Gent. being sick and weak in body .. give and bequeath all my slaves and personal estate to my wife, PARTHENIA DADE .. after her decease the same be equally divided between my two married daughters, ANN WEST and SARAH TRIPLETT, my unmarried daughter being already provided for by a Deed of Conveyance executed by me and my wife, and my son, TOWNSHEND DADE, having received from me a good Education which is all the fortune I am able to give him and much greater than any of my other children will receive. I appoint my said wife Executrix .. this 21st day February 1777.

      To all Persons to whom these Presents shall come LEE MASSEY of Fairfax County sends greeting Whereas by certain articles of agreement bearing date the twenty fourth day of October 1767 between TOWNSHEND DADE of Fairfax County of one part and myself of part I have for myself and my heirs agreed and consented that CHARLES ALEXANDER of Stafford County shall convey and assure unto Townshend Dade & PARTHENIA his Wife absolutely in fee simple four hundred acres of land whereon they now live And moreover by the same articles have agreed & obliged myself & my heirs to relinquish all mine and their right & title in and to the said land unto Townshend Dade and Parthenia his wife by good & sufficient Deed or conveyance in Law when demanded Now Know Ye that I Lee Massey in performance of the said agreement and for the sum of Five shillings sterling to me paid do for me and my heirs forever quit claim unto Townshend Dade andPartheniahis Wife all the Estate right title I now or may have in that Plantation of four hundred acres of land whereon Townshend Dade and Parthenia his Wife now live In Witness whereof. this seventeenth day of December 1776.

      This Indenture made the twenty first day of February in the year 1777 Between TOWN SHEND DADE of Fairfax County Gent and PARTHENIA his Wife of one part and CATHERINE DADE, BEHETHLAND DADE, ELIZABETH DADE and MARGARET DADE, four of the daughters of Townshend and Parthenia of other part Whereas Townshend Dade and Par thenia his ife are lawfully seized in their demesne in one tract of land whereon they now live situate in Fairfax Parish in County aforesaid binding on Potowmac River and containing four hundred acres ow This Indenture Witnesseth that Townshend Dade and Parthenia his Wife for the natural love nd affection which they have and bear unto the said Catherine Dade, Behethland Dade, Elizabeth Dade and Margaret Dade and for their advancement and maintenance and also for the settling the sd tract of land in these presents before specified and for divers other motives and considerations do agree with CATHERINE, BEHETHLAND, ELIZABETH and MARGARET that they the said Townshend Dade and Parthenia his Wife shall at no time hereafter be seized of or in the said tract of land
