      At The Request of ______ Tubman the following deposition was Recorded July 24th 1756
      Maryland Sst Prince Georges County June 12th 1755 The deposition of Mrs Mary Lowe aged Seventy Four or thereabouts who after being first Sworn upon the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith that about Fifty Seven years ago or thereabouts this deponent was at the house of Mr. John Hawkins in the County aforesaid Gentleman when the Revd Mr George Tubbman was married to Mrs Elinor Hawkins by the Worshipfull Mr John Hawkins one of the Justices of the peace for the County Aforesaid the aforesaid Mr Tubman Lived in Wedlock many years with his said Wife and had Issue By her Viz. a Daughter named Elizabeth Tubman who lived to be about Eleven years of age one Son only who was named Richard Tubbman which said Richard Tubbman [as this deponent has been often told but was not present at his mariage, as she was at his fathers] Intermarried with Mrs Sarah Magruder by whom he had Issue Viz. George Henry, Samuel, Richard and Several Daughters and further this Deponent saith not

      At The Request of _______ Tubman The following Deposition of Mrs Martha Bayne aged about Sixty Nine years or thereabouts who after being first Sworn upon the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith that about Fifty Seven years ago or thereabouts this Deponent was At her Fathers Mr John Hawkins when the Revd Mr George Tubbman was married to Mrs Elinor Hawkins by her Father Mr John Hawkins who was one of the justices of the peace for the abovesaid County at the time Mr Tubbman lived in Wedlock Several years with his said Wife and had Issue by her Viz a Daughter named Elizabeth Tubbman who lived to the Age of about Elevin years and one Son only whose name was Richard Tubbman [as this deponent has been often told but was not present at his Marriage as She was at his Fathers] Intermarried with Mrs Sarah Magruder by whom he had Issue Viz George Henry Samuel, Richard and several daughters and further this deponent Saith not

I, Richard Tubman of CC, for the natural love I have for my son, Henry Tubman of CC, and for 1 shilling sterling, a tract of land in CC, called Cowpen, bounded by "the East Line of Forrest Green, a Tract of Land in Possession of said Tubman, Originally Surveyed for a Certain Zachariah Wade", containing and now laid out for about 146 acres. Signed Nov 12, 1755 - Richard Tubman. Wit - Richd Harrison, Jas Nevison. This deed was acknowledged by sd Richard Tubman on Nov 12, 1753 [sic]. Recorded Dec 2, (no year stated].

Wit - Mev Lock, Thos Greenfield. This deed was acknowledged by sd Henry Tubman in St. Mary's county; Dorathy, wife of the sd Henry Tubman, released her right of dower to the within mentioned lands. Richd Ward Key, Clk of St. Mary's County, certified that Mr. Meverel Lock & Mr. Thomas Greenfield are St. Mary's County JP's. Recorded March, 1763.
