      I, Edward Darnall Sr of CC, planter, for and in consideration of a maintenance during my natural life, have given to William Thomas of CC, planter, 1 Negro man named Jack, 1 cow, 1 feather bed, bolster, and furniture.       I, Edward Darnall Sr of CC, planter, for 30 £paper currency, have sold to Thomas Darnall of CC, planter, 3 cows, 3 heifers, 2 bulls, 14 hogs, 2 calves, a large table and drawers, 1 chest and lock, 1 small trunk & lock, 1 cupboard, 6 flag chairs, 1 large looking glass, 1 bed warning pan, 2 beds and furniture, 1 bedstead and cord, 4 pewter dishes, 4 bases [basins?), 11 plates, 3 iron pots, 1 frying pan, 1 hand mill and pickers, 1 large stone jug, 2 iron wedges, 3 sides of leather in tan, 2 sets of horse harnesses, 1 pewter tankard, 1 pewter pint pot, 4 glass bottles, 1 iron pestle, 1 grindstone, 2 hive of bees, and 1 sifter.       Aug 30, 1751 from Edward Darnel Sr of CC, planter, to Thomas Darnel of CC, planter. Henry Darnel of Prince Georges County, Gent:, on behalf of Charles Lord Baltimore, by indenture of lease dated Apr 27, 1727, leased one tract of ; land, being part of his Lordship's Manor of Zachia, for and during 3 lives. This deed further witnesses that sd Edward Darnel, for 20 £paper currency and 4 £10 shillings sterling, sells to sd Thomas Darnel all that parcel of land, being part of his Lordship's Manor of Zachia, bounded by a fork of the Dressing Branch, containing about 113 acres, during the residue of the sd term by the indenture of lease granted. Sd Thomas Darnel will pay the rent and perform the covenants in the above recited lease. Signed - Edward (I his mark) Darnel Sr. Wit - Geo Dent, Wm Thomas.

      Charles Co. Court Records, Book N, p.336, 1688, refers to Edward Darnold, the servant of Phillip Lynes, as being 17 years of age. On April 27, 1727 Henry Darnel, agent for his lordship, conveyed to Edward a portion of the Manor of Zachia, Charles County, Maryland. He died in 1754 and his will is summarized in the H.
