      Note:
      In the Deeds of Loudoun County one can find the following from a Deed dated 9/10 June 1769 between JOHN LANE and CATHERINE his Wife, being part of a tract of land given by Capt. WILLOUGHBY NEWTON to WILLIAM JETT and CATHERINE JETT his Wife, now CATHERINE LANE, having since the decease of WILLIAM JETT intermarried with JOHN LANE;

      And also in a Deed dated 12/13 June 1769; between JOHN LANE and KATHERINE his Wife land devised to KATHERINE by the Last Will and Testament of WILLOUGHBY NEWTON, late of the County of Westmoreland, deceased, in the following words, "I give and devise unto my Daughter, CATHERINE LANE,"

      Betty Jett, daughter of Catherine Jett (d. 1787) of Westmoreland Co.

      Catherine Jett died in King George County, 1787. In her will (1786) she mentioned her daughters, Betty and Frances Jett and Anne Brown.

      Peter Jett was executor of the estate of Catherine Jett (d. 1787) of Westmoreland Co.

      Francis Jett, dec'd. Estate divided between his widow, William Brown as husband of Anne Jett, Betsy and Frances Jett. (See the will of Catherine Jett.) Westtnoreland County, 1787.

      "JETT, CATHERINE, 7 Nov. 1786; 27 Feb. 1787. Land in King George to be sold and amount paid to daus. Betty and Frances Jett who are also to have 1200 lbs. tobacco; dau. Anne Brown 1 cow, blankets etc; Peter Jett exr."

      son-in-law Thomas Lawson, Negroes and stock;
      Lettice, wife of Thomas Lawson;
      son-in-law, John Berryman and wife Martha Negroes and stock;
      son-in-law Benjamin Berryman and wife Sarah;
      daughter Elizabeth Newton land where on I live, stock, chariot with 4 horses and 10 Negroes;
      daughter Mary Newton 21 Negroes.
      Codicil 6 January 1767 - Grandson Willoughby, son of John who has died since the making of this will;
      granddaughter Elizabeth Ashton and Anne Jackson;

      Indenture made 15th July 1762 between KATHARINE JETT relict of WILLIAM
      JETT late of county Louden and THOS HODGE of county King George
      .. Whereas said William in his life time and the said Katharine then
      his wife by their deeds of lease and release dated 10th & 11th May 1762
      conveyed to Thomas Hodge 88-1/4 acres ., whereas Katharine had no opportunity
      to acknowledge said deed before (her husband's) death which happened
      Soon after the Execution of said Deeds .. Now This Indenture Witnesseth
      that said KATHARINE JETT for sum Ten shillings .. has granted
      Thomas Hodge all the Dower & Thirds .. in said tract of land ..

      At a court held 1st April 1763 .. Release of Dower proved .. admitted
