      IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen. I HUMPHREY POPE of ye County of Westmorland & Parish of Washington being of perfect sense and memory praized be Allmighty God for itt. doe make this my Last Will & Testament in manner & form following, hereby revoking all other Wills & Testaments by me made. Imprimis, my Soul into the hands of Allmighty God &c., and my body to the Earth itts mother to be decently buried by my Exetrs: hereafter named
      Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, ANN CONDETT one half of my Land in PRINCE WILLIAM County, lying near (N--pies) Creek and next to POTOMACK RIVER to her & the heirs of her body lawfully begotten & for want of such to my Daughter, SOPHIA MUSE and the heirs of her body &c and for want of such to my heir at Law for ever.
      Item I give unto my Daughter, SOPHIA MUSE the other half of my Land in PRINCE WILLIAM County and to the heirs of her body lawfully begotten and for want os such to my Daughter. ANN CONDETT and the heirs of her &c. & for want of such to my heir at Law for ever.
      Item, I give unto my Son, HUMPHREY POPE, all the Plantation and the Land thereunto belonging whereon I now live to him and to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such to my Son, JOHN POPE &ye heirs of his body lawfully Begotten & for want of such to my Daughter, SARAH POPE and the heirs of her body &c., and for want of such to my heir at Law for ever:
      Item. I give unto my Daughter, MARY MUSE, fifteen shillings and what I have allready given her into her possession for her full part of my Estate for ever;
      Item, I give unto my Daughter, SOPHIA MUSE. one shilling Sterling and what I have allready given her into her possession for her full part of my Estate for ever;
      Item. I give unto my Son, JOHN POPE. my Negro man called jack to him and his heirs for ever
      Item. I give unto my Daughter. SARAH, one mnlattn girl named Lpttis only that (the next line is nor readable on the film)
      Item. I give to my Wives Daughter named ELIZABETH MORRIS, one feather bed bolster rug and blanket and pare of ( to her & her heirs for ever;
      Item, I give to my loving Wife. MARY, the horse called ( ) together with her Saddle & Bridle and also one Trunk to her and her heirs for ever. My will is that all the rest of my Estate be equally devided between my loving Wife and my four youngest Children to them and their heirs for ever and further it is my will and desier my four youngest Children have their Estate delivered them by my Exetrs. as they shall severally attaine to the age of Eighteen or day of mariage,
      Lastly, I do nominate appoint my loving Wife, MARY POPE, my Cozen, DANLL McCARTY and PETER JETT, Exetrs. of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this tenth day of January 1733

      This Last Will and Testament of HUMPHRY POPE, deced., at August Court last being lodged by DANIEL McCARTY, Gent., one of the Executors in the said Will named, who then made Oath thereto & was proved by HUMPHRY POPE (who being the third of that name) one of the witnesses thereto & at this Court BENJAMIN WADDEY, Gent., the other witness in the said Will named proved the same by his Oath; Whereupon the said Will is admitted to Record and PETER JETT, one of the other of the said Executors together with the said McCARTY making Oath thereto, on their mocon and performing what is usual in such cases, Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form

      Of Henry Elley & Esther his wife to William Butler. Land was originally taken up by William Harrison and later regranted to said Harrison and Lewis Markham. Markham sold his share to John Redman who sold it to Humphrey Pope, John Veale and Morrice Veal and it was equally divided between them of 5 Nov 1718, the middle part falling to John Veale who left the said land by his will dated 21 Nov 1718 to be divided between his sons John and Morrice who dying both with heirs it fell to Bond Veale he being the heir at law to his said brothers John and Morrice, who sold to the said Henry Elley.

      Mary Mottershead, relict of Brookes Mottershead, made oath that Brookes departed this life without makeing (sic) any will so farr (sic) as she knows or believes. Certificate is granted her for obtaining letters of administration, Garrat Oneale assuming to be security. Ordered that Wm: Quissenbury, Humphrey Pope, Christopher Butler and Humphrey Quissenbury appraises the estate in money.

      Indenture made 4th day March 1707/8 between FRANCIS REDMAN of parish Washington in county Westmoreland of the one part & HUMPHRY POPE, JOHN VEAL & MORRICE VEAL all of parish & county aforesaid .. Witnesseth for sum 15000 pounds of good sound merchantable Tobo which to him in hand already paid .. hath sold all that tract of land lying in county Stafford conta. 800 acres being the moiety or half part of 1600 acres of land formerly In the tenure & occupation of one WM. HARRIS being granted by pattent bearing date 26th day Febry 1690 unto William Harris & LEWIS MARKHAM the said parcel of 800 acres of land being bounded .. beginning at a marked pohickory standing in the side of a Creek called Neapscoe Creek E. in the line of the land called Burbiges & extending thence by the said Burbiges line N=40 E=560 poles to a place called the White Marsh then by a line of land surveyed for Capt. Scarlet N=50 W=176 poles to a marked pohickory then W=30 poles to a marked corner tree then SW= 518 poles to a corner tree in the back line of the land of JOHN GOSLING then E by the said Gosling line 30 poles to a marked pine tree then S by W=160 poles to the aforesaid Creek then down the Creek 160 poles to the first beginning including the sd quantity of 800 acres which parcel of land was formerly conveyed by William Harris unto Lewis Markham sold and conveyed unto ROBERT Father of Francis Redman by deed bearing date the 9th day Janry 1679 ..
      At a Court held 10th March 1707 This Deed of Sale was acknowld .. together with livery and seizin thereon & a Bond for the performance of Covts. which is ordered to be recorded & is recorded.
      Know all men .. I FRANCIS REDMAN of parish Washington in county Westmoreland am firmly bound unto HUMPHRY POPE, JOHN VEAL and MORRICE VEAL of parish and county afsd in the just sum of 500 Y Sterl. money of England .. 4th day March 1707. The condition is such that whereas Francis Redman hath this day sold 500 acres of land being in county Stafford bounding upon Neapscoe Creek ., now if Francis Redman shall well and truly observe every articles covenants in the Indenture .. and shall within 8 months after the date hereof acknowledge the same in County Court of Stafford .. then above obligation to be void ..       The Last Will and Testament of JOHN QUISENBURY, deced. was presented into Court by ANN QUISENBURY, his Executrix, who made Oath thereto and being proved by the Oaths of FRANCIS QUISNEBURY and HUMPHREY POPE, two of the wittnesses thereto, is admitt to Record; And upon motion of ANNE and her performing what is usuall in such cases, Certificate is granted her for obtaining a Probate thereofin due form; And it is ordered JOHN MOTTERSHEAD, HUMPHREY POPE, CHRISTOPHER BUTLER and DANIEL FIELD or any three ofthem doe some time before the next Court value and appraise the Testator's Estate in money and make due report thereof being first
