      At a Court continued and held for County of Fairfax 17th day of March 1762 On the motion of CONSTANT CHAPMAN in behalf of herself, GEORGE CHAPMAN and PEARSON CHAPMAN to whom she is Guafdian and of NATHANIEL CHAPMAN, WILLIAM LOCK WEEMS and SAMUEL WASHINGTON who are entitled to a distributive share of the Estate of Nathaniel Chapman Gent. Deceased it is ordered that JOHN CARLYLE, JOHN WEST JUNR. and BENJAMIN SEBASTIAN Gent. do value the slaves given by the said Nathaniel Chapman unto DOCTOR JOHN HUNTER in marriage with ELIZABETH the daughter of the said Nathaniel according to the list of their names and ages hereunto annexed and make report thereof to the next Court.
      A Lott and Building a House 30 feet by 18 feet and 1 Beaufatt 1 Negro man (named Brooke) aged abt 60 years (followed. by a further listing of other negroes and their ages, six more in number).
      In obedience to an order of the Worshipful Court of Fairfax County bearing date the 17th day of March 1762 We the Subscribers did meet at the House of Doctor John Hunter on the 30th day of March and proceeded to value the underwritten Negroes. The lots and house valued at 102.0.0, the Beaufatt at
      6.0.0, the 8 negroes at 250.0.0.
      NB The above valuation we suppose to be what the Negroes were worth at the time when Doctor Hunter had the first possesion of them Given .. this 30th day of March 1762.

      Know all men .. We GREENBERRY DORSEY of County of Loudoun ROBERT BOGGESS SENR. & GERRARD BOWLING of County of Fairfax are held and firmly bound unto JOHN WEST JUNR. & WILLIAM LOCK WEEMS & ELIZABETH HUNTER Executors of the last will & Testament of JOHN HUNTER deceased & unto PHILLIP GRYMES & NICHOLAS GRYMES Executors of the last will & Testament of NICHOLAS GRYMES deced in the full and just sum of three hundred pounds current money of Virginia .. this 21st day May 1767. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a certain CATHERINE GRYMES formerly the wife of WILLIAM GRYMES deceased hath taken out Letters of Administration in the County Court of Fairfax for all the goods & chattels of her deceased Husband William Grymes & gave her security John Hunter & Nicholas Grymes since dead & whereas the said Greenberry Dorsey hath since the said securityships being enter'd into by the said John Hunter & Nicholas Grymes for the due administration of the said Estate intermarried with Catherine Grymes the widow of William Grymes deceased now if Greenberry Dorsey, Robert Boggess Senr. and Gerrard Bowling shall indemnify & save harmless the said John West, William Lock Weems & Elizabeth Hunter Executors of John Hunter & Phillip & Nicholas Grymes Executors of the said Nicholas Grymes from all damages that may accrue from the said securityship entered into by their respective Testators that then the above obligation to be void ..
