  Daniel was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He was pensione d for his servi ces and his wife received a pension after his d eath. At 16 years of age he w as a volunteer in the Virginia Mi litia, may 1, 1776, in the county of Culpeper , under Capt E. K irby. He had the rank of Sergeant and was discharged Dec 17 81 a t Winchester, Virginia.
