      GIBSON, WILLIAM, 4 May, 1676; 7 February, 1677/8.
      To daughter Elizabeth Gibson the 150 acres of land I bought of Nicholas Catlett and one young mare one year old.
      To James Bartlett 100 acres of land where I now live ye said James Bartlett to deliver unto ye said Elizabeth 200 apple trees and 100 quince trees when ye said Elizabeth is marriageable.
      To Thomas Bartlett 150 acres of land which I last took up provided if any of ye Children die without issue that his estate be equally divided between the rest.
      Executrix wife Mary Gibson to manage my said estate to ye best Advantage Until my Children be of age and in case she Marries that her husband be bound to make good every Particular thing belonging unto ye sd Children & Every of their heirs to be Equally divided amongst ye ad Children.

GIBSON of the County of Rappa have for a Valluable Consideracon already received have agreed bargained and sold for my Selfe as alsoe in the behalfe of my heirs and assignes and from them unto RORAH MACRAH of the County aforesd or to his heires or assignes all my right and title of two thirds of the Land wch: I the said Wm. Gibson JAMES GULLETT, WM. WEST purchased of FRANCIS TRIPLETT the said Wm. Wests third being mine by purchase the which said two thirds as abovesd I doe make over affee Simple Estate unto the sd Rorah Macrah from me the sd Gibson and my heires for Ever He the sd Macrah To Have and To Hold all and evry of the parts and parcells belonging unto me the sd Gibson wth. all proffitts and priviledges thereunto appertaining hee the said Macrah Yeilding and paying all Rights and dues accustomed thereunto I the said Gibson warranting the said land.       KNOW ALL MEN that I WILLIAM GIBSON of the Parish or Sittingbourne in the County of Rappa for a certaine sume of tobacco to me already paid have granted and sold unto NICHOLAS COPELAND of the Parish aforesaid his heirs & assignes a small parcell of land being part of the devident wherein I now live betweene two branches and beginning at a marked white Oake standing at the head of the one branch and running So. So. West by a line of marked trees to a red Oak that standeth by the other branch a little below the place where the HIGHWAY crosseth the said Branch and I the said GIBSON do warrant the said land to him the said COPELAND his heirs and assignes forever from me my heirs and assignes forever and from all persons claiming the same under me and particularly from the Dower of MARY my now Wife and I do oblidge myself to deliver up my right with my Wifes right unto the said Land unto him the said COPELAND his heirs and assigns in open Court within two months next ensuing the date hereof In Witness I have sett my hand and seale this 27th of Decembr. 1671 delivery and Seizin executed by the Delivery

      TO ALL TO WHOM these presents shall come I Sr. WM. BERKLEY Knight Governor and Capt. Genl. of Va. send greeting. Whereas by Instructions from the Kings most Excellent Majestie Directed to me and the Council his Majestie was graciously pleased to authorize me the sd Govr. and Councell to grant Pattents and to assigne such proportions of land to all Adventurers and Planters as have been heretofore usual in the like case either for Adventurers of money or Transportation of People into this Colony according to a Charter of Orders from the late Treasurer and Company and that the same proportion of fifty acres of land be granted or assigned for every person transported hither since mid 1625 and that the same Course be continued to all Adventurers and Planters untill it shall be determined by his Mats. Now know yee that I the sd Sr. WM. BERKELEY Knt. Governr. &c. with the Consent of the Council of State accordingly give and grant unto EDWARD WETHERBOURNE One hundred and fifty acres of land lying in Rappa bounding as followeth beginning at a marked line Oak standing by the BRYAR SWAMP side and runing SE to a marked red Oak thence NNE to a marked Spanish Oak standing near the head of the said BRIERY SWAMP thence runing down the sd Swamp to a W and by S to the first corner tree the said Land being due to the said WEATHERBOURNE for the transportation of Three persons into this Colony whose names are on the records mentioned underneath the Patent To have and to hold the said land with his due share of all mines and minerals therein contained with all rights and priviledges of Hunting Hawking fishing and Fowling wth all woods waters and Rivers wth all proffitts and hereditaments to the said land belonging to him the sd EDWARD WEATHERBOURNE his heirs and assignes forever in as large and ample manner as is exprest in a Charter of Orders from the Late Treasurer and Company dated the 18th of November 1618 or by consequence may be collected out of the same yielding and paying to our Sovereign Lord the King his heirs and successors for every fifty acres of land hereby granted yearly at the Feast of St. Michael the Arch Angel the Fee Rent of One shilling wth payment made yearly from year to year according to his Majesties Instructions of the 12th of September 1662 Provided that if the said EDWARD WEATHERBOURNE his heirs or assignes do not seate or plant or cause to be seated or planted unto the said Land within three years next ensuing then it shall be lawfull for any Adventurer or Planter to make choice and seate thereupon Given under our hands and the Seale of the Colony this Seventh day of November One thousand six hundred and seventy 1670
