      IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen. the 21st day of September 1739, I HENRY ASBURY of the County of Westmoreland & Parish of Cople being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God therefor, calling into mind the mortality of my body & knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it & for my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and for such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bless me with far above my deserts. I give and devise & dispose as followeth;
      Item. I give all my Land unto my Sons. HENRY ASBURY, and WILLIAM ASBURY and THOMAS ASBURY and that the land where I now live be divided into two parts for two of them and the Land in MATTOKS for the other, and that my Son, HENRY, have his first choice & WM: the next & THOMAS the last
      Item. I give and bequath to my loving Wife, HANNAH ASBURY, all my movable Estate goods and chattels during her life and after her decease to be equally divided among all my Children that has not any part in the Land, namely. SARAH, GEORGE, HANNAH. ISABELL & ANNE. and that my Daughter, ANN. have the best bed over & her part & I do here constitute & ordain and appoint my loving Wife, HANNAH ASBURY, and my Son, HENRY ASBURY whole & sole Exrs. of this my last Will and Testament, whereunto I have set. my hand and seal the day and year above written

      This Last Will and Testament of HENRY ASBURY, deceased, was presented into Court by HANNAH ASBURY and HENRY ASBURY, Exrs. in the said Will named, who made Oath thereto, and being proved by the Oaths of the witnesses thereto is admitted to Record, And on the motion of the Executors and there performing what is usual in such cases, Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form
