      Description: 428 acres beg.g &c. standing a little above Whites Mill; thence &c. along the land
      of Gerrard Stutt to Herring Creek.

      On 27 July 1705 Coleman Read suggested to Prop Office that WILLIAM OVERETT died seized
      of 400 acres, part of a patent of 590 acres granted to Overett March 22, 1665/6 and
      comprehending 400 acres granted to Overett by patent dated 2/14/1661/2. and by his will gave
      part thereof to Wm. Strauder who sold the same to Andrew Read, father of Coleman, but by his
      said will of Overett not being sufficient to convey an estate in fee And one JOHN WALKER
      appearing to have best right of the land who died without heirs or making legal disposition
      thereof. And the said Coleman moved to be admitted to an escheat of the said land purchased of
      his father from the said Walker. Whereas a controversy arising between Coleman and the
      ORPHANTS of GEORGE BROWN upon and between whereof Thomas Thompson, Gent
      Surveyor of Westmoreland Co., returned a survey date 19 day of ???? 170 7? in behalf of
      Coleman Read including 428 acres of land but by some accident the deed hath never been issued
      to Coleman Read for the land

      THIS INDENTURE made this 20th day of March 1738 Between PETER DUNKAN of Cople
      Parish & ROBERT TIDWELL of the same Parish the sum of Twenty Five pounds current money of
      Virginia . . that parcell of land on the Branches of NOMINY RIVIR and being part of a Patent first
      granted to WILLIAM OVERALL [OVERETT] and GEORGE BROWNE dated the 22nd day
      of March 1665. and was sold by GEORGE BROWNE. one of the Patentees unto one ANDREW
      READ by Deed dated the 19th day of March 1668. and COLEMAN READ. Son of said
      ANDREW READ. by his Deed dated the 6th day of September 1718 conveyed 200 acres of Land
      part of the Patent unto PETER DUNKIN and one WILLIAM DUNKAN. Now PETER DUNKIN
      being seized and in possession of the moiety of Two hundred acres of Land in fee did sell 100 acres
      of land, the moiety aforesaid, unto ROBERT TIDWELL his heirs.

      - THIS INDENTURE made this Twenty sixth day of November in the Third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland, King, &c. and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine, Between WILLIAM OWENS and REBECCA his Wife of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmorland of one part and JOHN BUCKLEY of the same place of the other part; That whereas WILLIAM PAINE, who intermarried with ELIZABETH HARNESS , one of the Sisters and Coheirs of EDWARD HARNESS, which sd. ELIZABETH was mother to the aforesd. REBECCA, did the Twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Thirteen bargain sell and convey to one GEORGE BROWN, late of the County aforesd., one hundred acres of land scituate in the FORREST of NOMINY, being part of a Patent granted to the aforesd. EDWARD HARNESS, and is bounded, Begining at a marked white Oak being a corner tree of this Land and the land late of the sd. GEORGE BROWN and from thence running North West one hundred and twenty one pole to a corner marked Chesnutt and from thence along a line of marked trees eighty two pole to a white Oak and from thence along a line of marked trees that divides this land from a parcell of land that was formerly granted to the aforesd. GEORGE BROWN and ELIAS MORRIS, to a corner Spanish Oak, from thence along the line of WILLIAM BROWN to a corner red Oak in the line that divides this land from the land of JAMES HAZLERIGG, from thence by a line of marked trees Southerly to the land of WILLIAM FRYER and along the sd. FRYERs line to the place where the same began; NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that WILLIAM OWENS and REBECCA his Wife in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds currant money to them in hand paid by JOHN BUCKLEY the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth release and for ever quit claime unto JOHN BUCKLEY and his heirs he now being in actual possession of the sd. One hundred acres of land by a purchase from the aforesd. JOHN BROWN, and all the Estate right of WILLIAM OWENS and REBECCA his Wife now have or which sd. REBECCA ought to have as heire to her Mother; In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangably sett their hands and seals
