      At the request of Gerard B Causin the following instrument was recorded.
      From: Daniel Jenifer Jr of Charles County and State of Maryland
      To: Joseph Fox of the Commonwealth of Virginia
      For the sum of five shillings current money, the following negroes Sook Nancy Maria Lucy and Anne; for the use of a certain Jenny Pope Causine wife to a certain Gerard Blackstone Causin.

      Charles County Land Records 1790-1792; Liber K#4; Page 56. Deed of Trust. Apr 24, 1790 from Gerard Blackstone Causin of CC. Gentleman, to Joseph Fox Sr of Westmoreland County, VA. Henry Vowles and Zachariah Vowles, both of Stafford County, VA, stand bound unto sd Causin in a bond dated Apr 29, 1789 of the penalty of 900 , with condition for making the bond void on sd Henry and Zachariah Vowles paying sd Causin the principal sum of 450 by next Apr 29, The bond was executed by sd Henry and Zachariah to sd Causin in consideration of sundry Negroes sold by sd Causin to sd genry and Zachariah, they being part of the Negroes devised to sd Causin by Rose Dade of VA, by will dated about 1784. Sd Causin, wanting to comply with the intention of Rose Dade by applying the sd bond and monies due thereon arising from the sale of sd Negroes to the use of one or more of the children of sd Causin, now this deed witnesses that sd Gerard, for 10 shillings, has sold to sd Joseph Fox Sr, the bond from sd Henry and Zachariah to sd Gerard and the 450 now thereupon due and owing, as afd and all money now due by virtue of the same bond, upon trust that the bond is assigned to Fox in trust that Fox shall receive the 450 and invest the same in purchases of Freehold lands in VA, and cause such lands to be settled, conveyed, and assured, for the use and behoof of Nicholas Causin, Nathaniel Pope Causin, and Gerard Newton Causin, sons of the afd Gerard Blackstone Causin, to be equally divided between them, as tenants in common and not joint tenants. Sd Joseph shall not be accountable for any loss. Sd Trustee may reimburse himself for his costs. If sd Joseph dies or wants to quit the trust, then sd Gerard may elect some other person. Dec 31, 1792 from Daniel Jenifer Jr of CC, to Joseph Fox Jr of VA, for divers good causes and for 5 shillings, the following Negroes, to wit, Sook, Nancy, Maria, Lucy, and Anne, in trust for the use and behoof of Jenny Pope Causin, wife of Gerard Blackstone Causin, during her natural life, and after her death, in trust to the use and behoof of such persons as sd Jenny Pope Causin, by will, shall direct, and if Jenny dies without making any disposition of sd Negroes by will, then in trust to the use of all the children and their legal representatives of sd Jenny, to be equally divided among them.
