      THIS INDENTURE made the 30th day of August in the year of the Commonwealth of Virginia the seventh and in the year 1782, Between JAMES BAILEY of County of King George of one part and JOHN BAILEY of the same County of the other part; Witnesseth that JAMES BAILEY for sum of Twenty five pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by JOHN BAILEY, by these presents doth bargain and sell unto JOHN BAILEY his heirs all that tract of land situate in Parish of Hanover in County of King George containing by estimation Fifty five acres, it being the land where JOHN ATWOOD now lives., Begining at a white Oak, corner to WILLIAM PIPER & JAMES FRANK, and binding on the said PIPERs line to a Locust tree, corner to the said Land and the land of WILLIAM PIPER, from thence along PIPERs line to a Ditch which divides this Land which I now sell from the remaining part of my other land, and coning Northward along the Ditch to a marked black Oak standing on the end of the Ditch. thence West a small distance along a marked line to a Willow Oak standing in or near a Path called & known by the name of the OLD CART PATH. thence Northward along the said CART PATH to the line of STEPHEN BAILEY, thence Eastward a small distance to FRANKS line, thence Southward along FRANKs line to a Locust Post, the said FRANKs corner, thence runing Eastward along said FRANKs line to the begining tree; and the rents issues and profits thereof; To have and to hold the land and premises to JOHN BAILEY his heirs and JAMES BAILEY for himself & his heirs covenant with JOHN BAILEY his heirs to warrant and defend the land against the claim or demand of all persons, In Testimony whereof the said JAMES BAILEY hath hereunto put his hand and JAMES ATWOOD & THOMAS SPILMAN, three of the witnesses thereto, & on the motion of the said JOHN BAILEY was ordered to be recorded
