      IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen I THOMAS POWELL of the Parish of Cittingburn in the County of Essex and Colony of Virga: being very sick & of perfect memory blessed and praised be to Almighty God for the same doe make & ordaine this to be my last Will & Testamt. in manner and forme following; First I cominde my souls into the hands of Almighty God that gave itt hopeing by he meritorious death & passion of or: blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to receive full remission of all my sins and a joyful! resurrection att the last Day and my body to be decently and Christianly buryed at the discretion of Exercr hereafter named & as for ye worldly goods that God hath lent me I will & bequeath them all as followeth:
      Imprimis It is my will that my land be devided into three equal parts and that my Two Sons, PLACE POWELL & THOMAS POWELL have each of them one third part of my said land and that my Wife, MARY POWELL, dureing her natural! life possess the other third part of the land and forthwith after the decease of my said Wife out of this life that this said third of my Land desend on my Sonne, WILLIAM POWELL, And it is my will that my land bequeathed as aforesd. to my Sons, PLACE POWELL, THOMAS POWELL & WILLIAM POWELL descend after their or either of their decease upon the heirs of their body lawfully begotten & for want of such heires that then it desend upon the next of my name and Lineage and we from heire to heire till both my name and lineage be extent
      Item I give unto my Son, WILLIAM POWELL, halfe my feemal cattle and all their male Increase & my will is that the Male goe to those persons that hath the Education of my Son, WILLIAM POWELL, till he shall come of the age of Twenty one years of age and further
      Item I give unto my Daughter, FRANCES POWELL, two cowes called Rose & Nanne with their increase
      Item I give unto my Sonne, HONNER POWELL & my Daughter, ELIZABETH SALMON, & my Daughter ANNE COFFEE each of them one Shilling and as for the rest of my Estate and the other halfe of my Cattele I will & bequeath it to my loveing Wife, MARY POWELL as long as she remaines a Widow or decease out of this mortal! life and then it shall equally be deived between PLACE POWELL, THOMAS POWELL & ELIZABETH SALMON & ANNE COFFE, Alsoe it is my will that my two Sons, PLACE POWELL & my Son in Law, JOHN SALMON, be Exerr, of this my last Will and Testament hereby nullifyeing & makeing void all former Will by me at any time Signed Sealed or Published. Edward Coffey of St. A. par, planter, sells John Barbee of the same par., for 5000 lbs. of "Lawful sweet scented Tobacco", 118 acres, which land Coffee bought of Augustine Smith, and is on branches of Occupation Creek, adj. land of Thomas Warren, on E. side of Chickahamony Path, the land of Coll. Francis Gouldman - "to a corner red oake and white oake corner to Mr Beverley his Great Tract", etc.

      KNOW ALL MIN by these presents that we ANN DOOLING, JOHN COFFEE and TOBIAS INGRAM are held & firmly bound unto THOS. WARING, SAL: MUSCOE, ROBT. BROOKE, JAMES GARNETT & NICHO. SMITH Gent Justices of ye County of Essex in ye sum of one hundred pounds Curt. this xxist day of May MDCCXXXIV.
      The Condition of ye above obligation is such that if ye above bound Ann Dooling Admx, of all the goods chattels & credits of ROBERT DOOLING decd do make a true and perfect inventory of all the goods chattels & credits of the sd decd the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited in the County Court of Essex at such time as she shall be thereunto required by the sd Court & further do make a just and true account of her actings and doings therein when thereunto required by the sd Court and if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will and Testament was made by the sd Decd & the heir, or Exrs. therein named do exhibit the same in the sd Court making request to have it allowed & approved Accordingly if the said Ann being thereunto required do deliver up her Letters of Adman, approbation of such Testament being first had & made in the sd Court Then this Obligation to be void , Ann Dooling
