      THIS INDENTURE made this Sixteenth/Seventeenth day of November 1724 Between EDWARD STEEVENS of the parish of Abington in County of Gloucester Planter and JAMES STEVENS of parish of Saint Marys in ye County of Essex. WITNESSETH that in consideration of ye sum of Twenty pounds Sterling the said Edward Steevens in hand paid by said James Steevens whereof he doth clearly discharge the sd James Steevens by these presents HAVE granted to James Steevens in his actual possession now being by Virtue of a bargain and sale to him made for one whole year by Indenture date the day before the date hereof and by Statute for transferring uses into possession and to his heirs & assigns All that plantation and tract of land whereon ye said James Steevens now lives containing 117 acres being in Saint Marys Parish in County of Essex and being part of the Land that descended to me from my GRANDFATHER JOHN STEEVENS, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Plantation unto the said James Steevens

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I EDWARD STEVENS of the Parish of Abington in the County of Gloster am held and firmly bound unto JAMES STEVENS of the Parish of Saint Marys in the County of Essex in sum of one hundred pounds Sterling I bind myself dated this 17th day of November 1724
      THE CONDITION of this obligation is such that if Edward Stevens and his heirs keep all the agreements made between the said Edward Stevens of the Parish of Abbington in the County of Glocester of the one part & JAMES STEVENS of the Parish of St Marys in the County of Essex of other part then this obligation to be void or else to be in full force

      This Indenture made the twenty third/twenty fourth day of January 1725 Between JOHN LANE of Gloster County Planter of one part & JAMES STEVENS of Essex County Planter of other part Witnesseth that said John Lane in Consideration of the sum of Forty pounds Current Many of Virginia doth fully grant unto James Stevens (in his actual possession) now being of the Lands & Premises herein after mentioned by virtue of one Indenture of Bargain & Sale to him thereof made for one whole year by Indenture bearing date the day next before the day of the date of sd presents and of the Statute of transferring uses into possession and to his heirs forever one Certain tract of land containing two hundred acres lying in Essex County in St Marys Parish being the back part of a tract or parcell of land containing six hundred acres bought of JOHN PROSSER by JOHN STEVENS as by Deed bearing date the Ninth day of June 1671 together with all ways, etc.
