      THIS INDENTURE made the 31th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred twenty six, And in the twelfth year of the reign of our Soveraign Lord George of Great Britain France & Ireland. King, Defender of the faith &c., Between FRANCIS AWBREY of County of STAFFORD in Virginia, Planter, of one part, and GEORGE TURBERVILE of Cople Parish in County of Westmoreland in Virginia. GentĄ of other part: Witnesseth that FRANCIS AWBREY in consideracon of the sum of Three thousand pounds of tobacco to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof said FRANCIS AWBREY doth hereby acknowledge, doe by these presents sell unto GEORGE TURBERVILE his heirs all that parcell of land scituate in Cople Parish in Westmoreland County commonly called & known by the name of the NARROWS POINT, on the upper side of the mouth of Lower MACHOTIQUE RIVER, where the Ship, "KATHERINE" lies sunk contaning by estimacon One hundred & forty acres be the same more or less, bounded, Begining at the head of a Creek which divideth this land & the land formerly belonging to Capt. THOMAS YOUELL and extending alaong the Creek East South East one hundred & sixty poles to Lower MACHOTIQUE RIVER. thence Southerly two hundred poles along the River to a small Creek that divideth this land & the land formerly belonging to ISAAC ALLERTON, to the first begining: as by the Patent other writeings belonging to the said land may appear; which land was first granted to GEORGE WATTS by Patent bearing date the twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred sixty & one and after the decease of the said GEORGE WATTS, the land descended by Inheritance to WILLIAM WATTS, his Son & sole heir, who by JOHN STURMAN his Attorney duly & legally authorized thereto sold & conveyed the same to ABRAHAM SMITH of Cople Parish in Westmoreland County by Deeds of Lease & Release bearing date the 23rd day of June 1691: and ABRAHAM SMITH sold & conveyed the land to JAMES LAUGHON by Deeds of Feoffment hearing date the ninth day of June in the year of our Lord 1696: the said LAWHON sold & conveyed the land to ABRAHAM FEILD of the County aforesaid & Parish of Washington. who died possessed thereof without conveying or any way disposeing of the same, whereupon it became the proper inheritance of his Daughters as coheirs, who by Deed of Gift bearing date the 6th day of September in the year of our Lord 1710, made over & conveyed the land to their Brother in Law, DAVID ROZIER, JUNR, who by Deeds of Feoffment bearing date the 25th day of July Anno 1721 conveyed and made over the land to FRANCIS AWBREY, the partie to these presents; To have & to hold the land with all houses orchards and water courses upon the land & premisses with all appurtenances unto GEORGE TURBERVILE his heirs, freed & discharged from all incumbran ces: In Witness whereof the parties above menconed have hereunto interchangeably sett their hands & affixed their seals the day & year first above written

      Francis Awbrey of Pr. Wm. to Anne Mason of Stafford Co., widow....whereas the sd. Francis Awbrey obtained a deed from the Proprietors of the Northern Neck for 4,054 a. dated Feb. 11, 1730 and other deed for 962 a. dated Dec. 19, 1728, also obtained a warrant from sd. Proprietors Office for 5,316 a. adj. two sd. tracts of land of which it is suppossed some older patents or deeds will take away a part so that there will be left about 4,000 a....whereas Awbrey sold to Samuel Carefoot 640 a. of sd. tract and 320 a. of sd. tract to John Awbrey and 12 a. of second tract to George Pimmett so that there remains of two sd. tracts 4,033 a Francis Awbrey promise and agree to Anne Mason that he will at his own costs obtain a deed from the Proprietors Office for sd. 4,000 a. or so more of the sd. 5,316 a. as it clear from older gr Awbrey shall pay unto Anne Mason in corn and wheat what expense she shall be at in surveying and laid out....and make over to Ann Mason a good deeds with general warrent of sd. 5,316 a. as upon such survey shall appear not to included an older gr....and if upon the sd. survey it shall appear a greater quantity of sd. land then 4,000 a. then Anne Mason over and above consideration thereafter mentioned shall pay unto Awbrey sum of 50 shilling for every 100 a. above the 4,000 a. and so in proportion for any less quantity that 100 a....and in like manner if survey appear to be less than 4,000 a. Ann Mason shall retain in their hands as much of the consideration as the quantity of land deficient of the sd. 4,000 a. shall amount to at the rate of 50 shilling for 100 a 450 lbs. shall be paid in the following manner....150 lbs. in 6 weeks....200 lbs. before last day of Aug. 1739...last 100 lbs. on or before the last day of Aug. 1740....whereas Francis Awbrey Jr. son of Francis Awbrey has a Quarter seated upon part of the 4,033 a. cannot conveniently remove his hands of the same...Anne Mason agrees that sd. Awbrey may keep his hands at the sd. quarter 2 or 3 yrs....whereas there are tenants now seated on sd. 4,033 a....Ann Mason agrees that Francis Awbrey may receive the rents for his own use.

The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Awbrey shall perform and keep all covenants contained in articles of agreement intented which ought to be performed according to the true intent of the sd. articles then the above obligation to be void otherwise to stand and remain in full force and vertue.

      THIS INDENTURE made the twenty eighth and twenty ninth day of July in the year of our Lord 1740 Between FRANCIS AWBREY of the Parish of Truro in the County of Prince William Gent. and FRANCES his Wife of one part and ANNE MASON of the Parish of Overwharton in the County of Stafford Widow of other part Witnesseth that said FRANCIS AWBREY & FRANCES his Wife for sum of Seventy four pounds nineteen Shillings Sterling money of Great Brittain have granted unto the said ANNE MASON (in her actual possession now being by vertue of a Bargain & Sale to her and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession) and to her heirs forever all that : parcel of land being above GOOSE CREEK in the Parish of Truro & County of Prince William aforesaid and bounded Beginning at a Red Oak corner tree of another tract of land of said FRANCIS AWBREY containing four thousand & fifty four acres (lately sold & conveyed to said ANNE MASON) & running with the lines of that Tract North East to a White Oak & Red Oak near a Branch of LIMESTONE RUN North East to a Red Oak, South to a red oak saplin by a heap of Limestone Rocks near a drain of COOL SPRING North East to a small Red Oak near the COOL SPRING corner of said AWBREYs COOL SPRING TRACT (also sold & conveyed to said ANNE MASON) then with lines of that tract North East to a Great Stone in a poyson field, North East to a Red Oak in a poyson field, South East to the side of an high stony hill, South East to two White oaks (twenty one poles from the River side) North to a White Oak by a great Rock, North East to a White Oak saplin on an hill in a poyson field, North East to a White Oak in the dine of said AWBREYs former land & corner to land of RICHARD WOOD standing on the North side of a Branch, then along said WOOD's line North West to a red oak corner to land of GEORGE SLATER then South West to a red oak corner of said SLATER, & the land of one LYNCH, thence South West to a Red Oak corner to another tract of said LYNCH's then South West to a red oak & three white oaks marked "FA" corner to sd LYNCH then North West to a red oak on the side of the BROKEN HILLS near the head of a branch of LIMESTONE Corner to the land of JOSEPH DIXON thence with his line South East to a Red oak in a thicket, South East to a Red Oak saplin on a gravelly knowl, South East to a White oak saplin in a valley, South West to a White oak near an heap of Rocks South West to a scrubby white oak in a poyson field near a GREAT SPRING the beginning tree of the said DIXONs land then still with said DIXONs lines North West to a red oak corner of said DIXON under the BROKEN HILLS or small mountains thence along under the side of the hills South West to a Black Gum & Poplar on the South side of LIMESTONE near a point of Rocks at the end of the PINEY MOUNTAINS then South West to a Black Oak on a Stony Point of the Mountain, thence along the Mountain South West to a large white oak in a bottom by a Branch of COOL SPRING South West to three black oaks on an hill on the North side of a branch of COOL SPRING South West to a White Oak marked and "FA" and a Red Oak corner of the land of JOHN RICHARDSON, thence North East to the beginning containing two thousand nine hundred & ninety eight acres of land.
