William Clapham, Sr., with five tithables and William Clapham, Jr., with seven were residents of Lancaster county in 1654. " Mr. William Clapham, Sr.," was one of the collectors of the levy at this time, and William Clapham, Jr., had been chosen vestryman of the Lancaster north side parish on April 1, 1652.]

      Memorand: I JOHN EDWARDS having sold unto HENRY DAVYS 200 acres of land in COROTOMON RIVER and do hereby oblige my selfe to returne the pay I have reced of the sd HENRY for the sd land if it doth appear the ed land was for want of seating any time before or on the fourth day of Jan: last past & the sd JOHN doth engage at the next Court to be held for Lanc: County to take an acknowledgmt, of the sale of the sd Land unto the sd HENRY and that is Wife shal also do the like.
