      pp 229a - 230 THIS INDENTURE made betwixt WM. FITZHUGH of Stafford County of one part & JOEL STRIBLINGE of ye aforesaid County Planter on other part Wittnesseth this 8th day of December in ye yeare 1691 That said WILLIAM FITZHUGH late devised to forme lett one tract of land contayniage about one hundred acres in Stafford County & beinge ye 4th part of a Divident of Lande formerly belonginge to RICHARD PEIRCE and by said WM, FITZHUGH purchased of said RICHARD PEIRCE and bounded beginninge alt a marked Beach standinge upon ye edge of ye Dam beinge a Corner tree of HENRY NELLSON Lande & runninge ye said line East to a marked red oake thence E by N to a marked pohickory thence NE to a marked Beach standinge upon edge of ye Dam wch is a Corner tree betweene this lande and ye lande in possession of JOEL STRIBLINGE thence W by S alonge ye Dam to ye place begun for & in consideration of ye Rents duties hereafter mentioned dureinge ye terme of ye naturall lives of JOEL BENJAMIN and THOMAS STRIBLINGE three sonnes of ye said JOELL STRIBLINGE or ye Longest liver of them payinge therefore yearely dureinge ye terme aforesaid unto ye said WILLIAM FITZHUGH his heires upon ye said Plantation & Rowleinge it to a convenient Rowleinge House to ye Water Side all ye Feast of St. Luke being ye 18th day of October ye neat sume of Four hundred & fifty pounds of merchantable Tobacco Casks to containe ye same as alsoe yearley & every yeare att time aforesaid four Capons hens or pullets and if yearley Rent unpaid Twenty dayes after it shall be lawfull for WM.       THIS INDENTURE made the twenty fifth and twenty sixth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty six Between THOMAS STRIBLING of the Parish of Dettengen in County of Prince William gent of one part and RICHARD BLACKBURN of the Parish and County aforesaid gent of other part Witnesseth that said THOMAS STRIBLING for sum of Fifty pounds Currt. money hath sold unto the said RICHARD BLACKBURN (in his actual possession now being by virtue of a bargain and sale for one whole year and by force of the statute for transferring uses into possession) and to his heirs forever all that parcel of land by PATENT granted to JAMES McGLOUGHLIN bearing date the twenty fifth day of November one thousand seven hundred and twenty five and by him sold to the aforesaid THOMAS STRIBLING being in the aforesaid County of Prince William on the Middle grounds between the Branches of BROAD RUN and the Branches of BULL RUN adjoining to a tract of land surveyed for ANNE BIVINS and bounded begining at two white Oaks a Corner to said BIVINS's land thence So. E to two white Oaks thence No. E. to two red Oaks thence No. W to a water Oak in a Branch another corner of the said BIVINS's thence along the line of the said BIVINS's S. W, to the first station containing Two hundred and twenty five acres and all houses and appurtenances whatsoever belonging To Have and To Hold unto the said RICHARD BLACKBURN his heirs and assigns forever, In Witness whereof the said THOMAS STRIBLING hath set his hand and seal

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I THOMAS STRIBLING am held and firmly bound unto RICHARD BLACKBURN in the sum of Two hundred pounds Current money of Virginia this 26th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty six
      THE CONDITION of the above obligation is that if THOMAS STRIBLING at all times keep covenants on his part mentioned in Indenture also if ELIZABETH STRIBLING Wife of the said THOMAS STRIBLING shall at any time at request of the said RICHARD BLACKBURN acknowledge her right of dower that then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in force
