  • Notes
    • From "The Brockman Scrapbook", by William E. Brockman, abt. 1956:
Henry Brockman apprenticed himself to Capt. John Jordaine in the Barbados. The Captain was en route to America with a shipload of Hollanders. By working for the Captain, Henry Brockman was able to payfor his passage to Maryland. In Maryland, Capt. Jordaine made application for land for Henry Brockman, "Whom I have transported to Maryland". On 27 April 1674, Henry Brockman proved right to fifty acres of land and on that same day he assigned his right to Capt. Thomas Salmon. The Orange County, Virginia Brockmans say Henry married Rebecca Salmon (presumed to be the daughter of Thomas Salmon) in Maryland. The Salmons and Brockmans later moved to King & Queen County, Virginia, then to Albemarle and Orange Counties in Virginia. Thomas Salmon of Maryland lived in Albemarle County, Virginia and was a cooper by trade. He died in Culpeper County, Virginia.
