      IN THE NAME OF GOD. Amen. I WILLIAM GARRARD of the Parish of Washington in the County of Westmorland. Black Smith, being sick and very weak in body tho' in perfect memory and senses do first recommend my Soul to the Almighty God that have it and my body to the Earth to be buried in decent and Christian like manner and as concerning what small Estate it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with, I will and bequeath in manner and form following. viz.
      Item, I will and bequeath to my Son. NATHANIEL GARRARD, one Negro fellow named jamy, and one Negro girl named Bett, which said Negro girl he is to have during his natural life and after his decease to belong unto my Grandson, WILLIAM GARRARD, Son of NATHANIEL GARRARD, she and her increase,
      Item. I will and bequeath to my Son. AARON GARRARD, one Negro Fellow named Dick and all my Smith Tools;
      Item. I will and bequeath to my Daughter, JANE GARRARD, one Negro wench named Nan and her increase. one Negro man named Tom;
      Item. I will and bequeath to my Daughter, SARAH GARRARD, one Negro wench named Julian and twenty five pound Sterling money;
      Item. I will and bequeath to my Loving Wife, MARY GARRARD, during her widowhood. one Negro fellow named Peter and one Negro wench named Bess, and one Negro wench named Hanor, they and their increase, and afterwards to return to and equally to be divided amongst my four Children:
      Item. Its my wilt and desire that my Negro fellow named jack shall be at his own disposal amongst my Children and Wife that he may at any time he thinks proper remove himself from any one of my Children to another or them or to my Wife if he likes:
      Item. I will and bequeath and appoint my Lowing Wife, MARY GARRARD, sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament: In Witness whereof I have set my hand and fixed my seal this 4th day of November 1746

At a Court continued and held for the said County the 25th day of February 1746/7: This Last Will and Testament of WILLIAM GARRARD, deceased, was presented into Court by NATHANIEL GARRARD, who made Oath thereto, (MARY GARRARD, Relict of the said Decedent and Executrix in the said Will named having certified under her hand to this Worshipful! Court as follows; vizt., "This is to certify the Worshipful]. Court of Westmorland that I am not disposed to stand to Will made by my Husband, WILLIAM GARRARD, and surrenders the right of Administration and the proving the said Will to my Son. NATHANIEL GARRARD pr MARY GARRARD, February 25th 1746 and being proved by the Oaths of WILLIAM GARRARD, ANTHONY GARRARD andnANTHONY GARRARD the witnesses thereto is admitted to Record, And upon the motion ofnthe said NATHANIEL GARRARD and his performing what is usual in such cases, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form

Security for the said JOSEPH ordered they pay the same with costs alias exec.
