      Indenture first/second days March 1758 between MARTHA HAMPTON Widow and relict of WILLIAM HAMPTON deceased which said Martha before her intermarriage with the said William was widow and relict of THOMAS CATLETT Gent. deceased and GEORGE CATLETT son of the said Thomas & Martha both of county Caroline of one part and JOHN CATLETT another son of said Thomas and Martha and MARY his wife of said county Caroline of other part Whereas the said Martha Hampton now is possessed of a certain tract of land in King George County known by the name of the Thicketty Point as a part of her Dower in and out of the lands of said former Husband Thomas Catlett and Whereas it is presumed the fee simple or Right of Inheritance belongs to George Catlett Now This Indenture Witnesseth that Martha Hampton and George Catlett in consideration of natural love and affection they bear to John Catlett and Mary his wife and also in consideration of the sum of Five shillings lawful money of Virginia .. sold that Plantation known by the name of Thicketty Point .. beginning at a Hawthorn Tree on the Rappahannock River .. as by a survey made by BENJAMIN BERRY 25th May 1753 ..
