      BENJAMIN GARDNER, Son of SUSANNA GARDNER, deced. came into Court and made Oath that SUSANNA departed this life without makeing any Will soe farr as he known or believes and on his Petition
      Certificate is granted him for obtaineing Letters ofAdministration on the Decedent's Estate in due form, GEORGE ESKRIDGE and WILLIAM LEWIS assumeing in Court to be Securities for his due administration according to Law; And it is ordered WILLIAM GARDNER, JOSEPH CARR, JAMES THOMAS and EDMUND JEFFRIES or any three ofthem being first sworn before one of his Majesty's Justices for this County doe some time before the next Court value and appraise the Estate in money and report thereof to the Court

      21 Dec 1705: "Mathew Keene of Stafford County made a deed of gift which read in part as follows: 'For natural affection and kind love that I bear my well beloved sister Susan Garner of Westmoreland County .. unto John and Henry Garner of the said county one tract of land in Westmoreland containing 875 acres bounding upon the back line of John Shepherd which was patented in 1661. That is to say, 475 acres of the above to the said John Garner and 400 acres to Henry Garner my kinsmen.' Witnesses were James Withers and Thomas Garner.
