Mr. John Colyer, merchant in Bristol; Joseph Downing, son of George Downing by Anne, his wife; legatee Lem Richardson, son of James Richardson; Margaret Berry, daughter of William Berry; robert Taliaferro and Margaret, his now wife; Georg Downing, son of George Downing; Henry Berry; to Edward Tuberville for his attendance on me in my sickness and drawing my will 1000 pds. All the residue to Anne Downing and Joseph Downing, her son.

      Indenture 31st August 1727 between JOSEPH STROTHER & JNO. ffARGUSON both Vestreymen in Hanover Parish in County of King George of one part and SAMUEL SKINKER Merchant of same of other part .. Whereas SEM COX deced in his lifetime was seized of 92 acres in his Demesne as of 100 lying formerly in the north side of the Parish of St. Mary's in Richmond County but now in ye Parish of Hanover in County of King George the said SEM COXE .. did make his last Will and Testament .. dated 18th October 1710 & thereby did Will said land in form as followeth: that
      is to say (Item that in case .. JOSEPH DOWNING should happen to dey without any Issue of his body lawfully begotten .. after decease of sd Ann his Mother I give .. all my lands to use & behoof of the north side of the Parish of St. Mary's in County of Richmond to buy ornaments and other decent Utensils for the too churches therein as the minister & vestrymer of sd Parish for the time being shall limit and appoint and as there remain any of my land over & above ye Same .. then I give remainder over to minister & vestryment aforesaid to use of said Parish .. forever to be disposed of to such pious uses as they shall think fit) .. in same will did make BENJAMIN DESORETH & GEORGE DOWNING his Executors and SEM COXE so dying .. JOSEPH DOWNING hath died without any Issue of his body lawfully begotten after the decease of ANN his Mother and as much as sd ANN; also deceased; and whereas JOSEPH STROTHER & JOHN ffARGUSON by an order of the Vestry of Hanover Parish (which was at the time of making the sd will called Saint Mary's Parish) .. all appointed to sell the sd land .. and whereas the 92 acres part of the land mentioned .. in consideration of sum of 2200 pounds of Tobacco paid by SAMUEL SKINKER .. sell all tract of 92 acres commonly known by the name of the Glebe Land bounded on the west by the land of JOHN OWENS, on the north land of WM. BUNBURY, on the East with PATRICK HAMRICKS land on the south by Kays pattent
