      In the Name of God Amen, the 6th day of April in the year of our Lord God 1726. I Henry Gollop of Hanover Parish in the County of King George being in perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God for the same but calling to mind ye mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament that is to say
      First: I revoke all other Wills & Testaments either by wrighting or otherwise which ever was made by me and this only to stand as my last Will & Testament and no other.
      Imprimis: 1 give and bequeath to my couzen Mary Elkens the plantation where I now live and the land belonging to it, to her and the heirs of her body forever and one Negro called Cili and one heifer to her daughter Elizabeth.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my cuzen Anne Gollop one plantation at the Deep Run and the land belonging to it to her and her heirs lawfully begotten forever, and one Negro called Nan and one feather bed and furniture.
      Item: I give to Phillis Gollop one Negro called Tom and one feather bed and furniture.
      Item: I give to my cuzen Elenor Gollop twenty pounds Sterling which I have now by me and please God that I rase more money before I die, I desire she may have it.
      And further my desire is that all my personal estate not mentioned in my Will after funeral charges and lawful debts [are] paid should be equally divded between my four cuzens and I do hereby appoint and ordain John Owens and Elenor Owens his now wife my sole and lawfull Executors.

      This last Will and Testament of Henry Gollop, dece., was presented into Court by John Owen and Elliner his wife Executors therein appointed who made oath thereto and the same was proved by the oaths of Richard & William Owen two of the evidences thereto subscribed and admitted to Record. The four cousins named in Henry Gollop's will were his four nieces, the only children of his deceased brother, Robert Gallop (Gollop), who died testate in Richmond County in 1720. His widow, Eleanor (Elener, Elliner, &c.), married secondly John Owen(s).       THIS IDENTURE made the 4th day of October 1698 in the Ninth yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord King William the third &c., by & Between JOHN OWEN of the County of Richmond, Tayler, of the one part and HENRY GALLOP of the said County, Plantr., of the other part; Witnesseth that whereas there was a certaine tract, of Land lying on the North side of Rappa: River in the foresaid County being Forrest Land conteyning Thirteen hundred acres of Land taken up & patented by Mr. FRANCIS HAILES as by Patent bearing date the Ninth day of February 1663 may appeare and by the said HAILES given & acknowledged by Will to the abovesaid JOHN OWENS forever, Now Know ye dthat I the said OWENS for & in consideracon of the sum of Three thousand pounds of sweet sented tobacco & caske to him the said OWENS by the said GOLLOP well and truly paid & satisfyed, do for myselfe my heires sell unto the said GOLLOP his heires or assignes a small part of the aforesaid Tract of Land lying on the East side of POPLAR SWAMP conteyning by estimacon One hundred and thirty acres or thereabouts be it more or less within these following bounds (vist.) beginning at a white Oake a corner tree of JOHN ROLT, thence Southwest alonge a line of marked trees being the line between the said OWINS & GOLLOP to a white Oake standing in the line of FRANCIS HAILES upon a point lneere the said POPLAR SWAMP, thence alonge the said HAILES line South East to the land of EVAN WILLIAMS to a white Oake standing by the side of the Spring Branch, thence North by the course of the said Branch to a red Oake by the line of the aforesaid JOHN ROLT, thence alonge the said ROLTs line to the place began, Together with all houses buildings gardens orchards trees with all other the comodities belonging, To have & to hold forever free & cleare to him the said GALLOP his heires or assignes for evermore; Further the said JOHN OWENS for himselfe his heires doth granted that he the said GOLLOP may hereafter forever peaceably & quietly enter into & enjoy the said part of the said Land before menconed to his or their own use without any lett or disturbance from them the said OWENS & REBECCA his Wife or
      either of them their heires or any other persons whatsoever claiming any right out of the said granted part of the said land & premisses, And further that he the said OWENS & REBECCA his Wife & the heires of the said REBECCA will upon reasonable request & at the cost & charges in the Law of the said GOLLOP make or acknowledge further such reasonable & things for the further assuring & conveying the said part of the said land as by him the said GALLOP his heirs or Councell learned in the Law shall reasonably devise & require.
