      I JOHN BURRELL, ye Son of ROBERT BURRELL, having most haynously offended God & my Father, first against God by sinning against his divine majesty & against my Father in so fidiously to make a false Deed of Gift for all that ever my Father hath to be conferr'd upon mee, that through instigacon of THOMAS LANE, hee for bringing a false Deed to have ye one halfe of my Fathers whole Estate, for confirmacon whereof hee ye sd. LANE hath gotten under my hand & seale and for ye better bringing this project to pass, there was an Agreemt. betwixt me & LANE yt. I was to seve him one whole yeare for Eighteene hundred pounds of tobaccoe & caske, & wee must goe to my Father to gett his hand to that Agreemt. & carryed two bottles of Strong Waters wth: us of purpose to make my Father drunk & then to p:suade him to put his hand to the Agreemt., wch: if hee id condiscend to doe, then hee being drunk the false Deed of Gift should be put downe for my Father to sett his hand & seale, but failing of our purposes though my Father was gone Farr in drinke, hee the sd. LANE caused mee to counterfeit my Fathers hand and yt: vaillain hath taken his Oath yt: it was my Fathers hand notwithstanding hee saw mee write it wth:my owne hand: Therefore I doe hereby absolutely & unfeignedly renounce any right title or interest in ye false Deed od Gift any more then what my deare & loving Father shall be pleased to bestow upon mee when it shall please God to put him in yt: minde, And I desire & humbly pray this Worp11.       - MARTHA LANE against the Estate of her Husband Whereas a Bond under the hand and seale of THOMAS LANE for ten thousand pounds of tobacco was proved in this Court wherein THOMAS LANE did oblidge himselfe to provide for his Wife, MARTHA LANE, on penalty of paying the sume and whereas the Feofee for MARTHA LANE did obtaine an Attachment against the Estate of THOMAS LANE for the sume, THOMAS LANE being departed out of the Country without complying with the condition of the Bond, which Attachment was returned executed on the Estate of THOMAS LANE in the hands of ANTHONY MORRICE and Mr. WILLIAM THOMAS, Judgment is granted MARTHA LANE against ANTHONY MORRICE for the Estate of THOMAS LANE attached as aforesaid, itt not exceeding the sume of ten thousand pounds of tobacco which sume JOHN PAINE did make Oath in Court was the penalty of the Bond, and for what shall appeare due to MARTHA LANE in the hands of WILLIAM THOMAS attached as aforesaid ordered the whole doth not exceed the sume of ten thousand pounds with costs als Execution

      HAYNIE's Comm of Admon upon LANE's Estate that whereas THOMAS LANE some time ago hath dyed in Delaware Bay [or poynts adjacent] and his Wife surviving him the Thirds of his Estate became her legall right and she departing this life about ye 12th of April last ye right of her Estate (ye aforesaid Thirds] personall revolved unto her Children of which your Petitioner's Wife is one and whereas your Petitioner hath a present opportunity to send to ye Delaware Bay in quest of this Estate there where his Widdowes Dower must be had [or noe where] your Petitioner therefore humbly prayes Order of Administration on ye Estate of THOMAS LANE and he shall pray &c.
