      King George and JAMES KENYON and ELEN his wife (daughter of said Hensfield) of same .. Whereas Hensfield Bruce did on 12th November 1763 execute in writing intended to be last will and testament of said Hensfield Bruce among other things did give his Daughters ANN WINTERTON and ELEN KENYON three negro slaves..and after death of Hensfield's son JOHN BRUCE and ANNE his wife to whom Hensfield had given the work of the three slaves during their natural lives .. and Hensfield hath given Elen a negro man named Joe after death of THOMAS FICKLIN to whom Hensfield hath given the work of said slave .. also given Elen one negro named Jack. one negro boy named Aaron & one negro girl named Hannah .. Now This Indenture Witnesseth that Hensfield Bruce for the natural love and affection he hath for James Kenyon and Elen his wife and Ten shillings .. doth covenant that the above named slaves shall be conveyed according to his will ..

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I EDWARD JEFFRIES of the County of Rappa:, Plantr.. for divers good causes and considerations in hand paid me thereunto moving do make over from me my heires one bay Mare branded on the further buttock with E: W: the wrong way and a mare Colt about ten months old with white blaze down the face unto Two Children of GEO: BRUCE to them their heires forever but in case of mortalitie of ELIZ: BRUCE without issue her interest thereof to fall to CHARLES BRUCE, but in case of mortalitie of HENFIELD BRUCE his share to fall to WM: BRUCE and in case of mortalitie of the above named then the abovesaid Mare and Colt then to fall to GEORGE and JOHN BRUCE and their encrease to be equally devidod according as above mentioned when at the age of one and Twenty years I the abovesd. JEFFRIES do warrant the said Mare and Colt from any persons whatsoever laying title
      thereunto the which Mare and Colt I the sd EDWARD JEFFRIES do oblige myself to deliver the said Mare and Colt into the Custody of GEO: BRUCE SENR. or in case of mortalitie of the sd GEO: BRUCE SENR., then GEO: BRUCE JUNR. to take the above mentioned Mare and Colt into his Custody and to have manazemt. thereof I the sd JEFFRIES do oblige myself to acknowledge sd premisses in Rappa.       In the Name of God Amen. I William Bruce, Senr being sick and Teak of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same, do make this my Last Will & Testament in manner and form following.
      Imps I bequeath my soul to God that gave it and my body to be lecently interr'd at the discretion of my Executors herein after Lamed and for what temperal estate God has blessed me with, I give and bequeath as followeth.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my brother Charles Bruce all the ioney due to me in the hands of Captain John Smith in Richmond County. I likewise give to my brother Charles Bruce all the money due me from John Spence in Westmoreland County. I likewise give to my brother Charles Bruce one half of my linnen and cotten that is not made up and likewise all my Books at Mrs. Elizabeth Willson's.
      Item: I give to my cousin William Bruce, son of Charles Bruce, all the money due to me from Hugh French in Richmond County.
      likewise quit my aforesaid cousin William Bruce the money he owes me.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my brother Hensfield Bruce all the remainder of my estate but of what nature or quality soever.
      Item: My will is that no part of my estate be apparaised.
      tem: I appoint my loving brothers Charles & Hensfield Bruce sole Executors of this my Last Will & Testament.

      The last Will & Testament of William Bruce, Deceased, was presented into Court by Hensfeld Bruce one of the Executors who made oath thereto and the same was proved by the oaths of the witnesses thereto and admitted to record, having with George Morton entred into Bond in five hundred pounds for the same.
