    • Charles County, Maryland Liber L#2, Page 406. At the request of Laurance Lant, the following deed was recorded this Nov 8, 1727.
      Sep 28, 1727 from James Husband of Cesil [Cecil] County, planter, to Laurance Lant (Lent) of St Mary's County, planter, for 6000 lbs of tobacco, all that moiety or half part of a tract of land called Cantebury, lying in CC, and bounded by the north side of a fresh run of water commonly known as one of the branches of Piles fresh, and near the tract of land called Hunts Venture, containing about 100 acres. Signed - James Husband. Wit - John Ward, Richard (R his mark) Houton. NB: the seal to this deed was made with ink only. Alice, the wife of James Husband, acknowledged her right of dower to sd land before Roger Woolford, a Justice of the Provincial Court.
