Musgrave Dawson by his last will and testament, Dated Feby. 24, 1764, directed his executors to sell all or any part of his estate and to lay out the same in any manner they should think fit for the advantage of his children and the sd. Mary, his wife, and whereas the sd. Dawson departed this life, leaving a very considerable estate in slaves without any lands whereon to work them, and it being thought well that a tract of land be purchased as well for a residence of the sd. Mary Dawson and her surviving child John Dawson as for the occupation of the sd. slaves, and whereas Wm. Johnston, by his deed dated Augt. 1, 1763, conveyed to his son Richard Johnston, party to these presents 618 a. in Spts. Co., the sd. Richard conveys the same to the sd.
