      p. 91 KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that JONAH RIVETT Sonne of JONAH RIVETT of Stafford County Late deced doe acknowledge to have received of HENRY
      MEREST who married MARY my Mother & Admx. of ye Estate of my said Father deced one Cow & Caife, three Sowes and two Shoates being every part of ye Estate of my said Father deced belonging and appertaining to me the said JONAH RIVIT for my share and 1 doe by these presents fully release my said Mother as Admtra aforesaid and HENRY MERREST who marryed the said Admtrx. from all demands whatsoever to ye said Esate. In Witness thereof I have set my hand and Seale the one & twentieth day of June 1688

      p. 143 THIS INDENTURE made this Tenth day of February 1689/90 Between HENRY MEREST of Stafford County of ye one part and PHILLIP LAMBATT of the County
      aforesaid Planter of other part Wittnessetb that said PHILLIP LAMBATT doth in consideration of Learninge ye Trade of a BOAT WRIGHT wch ye aforesaid HENRY MEREST doth promise to due his utmost endeavours to learn him as farforth as ye said PHILLIP LAMBATT shall be capable & likewise for divers other causes that he will truely att all tymes worke & serve him ye said HENRY MEREST in all service as shall pertain to Boat Wright or any other worke makeinge of Come & helpinge about the Tobacco in tymes of Season as he ye said HENRY MEREST shall think fill dureinge ye full terme of fowre yeares service to be commenced from ye date hereof untill aforesaid terme of fowre years be expired to find for the said PHlLLIP LAMBATT meat drink lodging & clothing during ge ye said Terme and att the expiracon of the said Terme pay unto him ye said PHILLIP LAMBATT one suit of broad cloth and further more I doe cleare him from ye Master as 1 am force to come to it myself, in Wiliness the parties have sett their bands & seales the day & yeare above written

      791. ELIZABETH BURNARD being summoned by the sheriff to this Court to give security and enter into Bond touching the Estate of NICHOLAS BURNARD her late deced husband. JOSHUA DAVIS and HENRY MEREST became security with Elizabeth Burnard and did enter into bond accordingly to perform what the Law shall re-quire touching the same.

      798. GEORGE LUKE made humble petition to this Court showing that your peti
      tioner by virtue of a grant made to him made by Collo. WM. FITZHUGH doth hold and enjoy the two thirds in three parts to be divided with HENRY MEREST in Right of MARY his wife of a certain Dividend plantation and tract of land in this County of Stafford Therefore your petitioner humbly prays division of said premises according to Law .. And the Court having considered the premises and the equity and reasonableness thereof Therefore tis ordered that the said land be divided according to the quality and quantity as the Law directs in such cases and that Henry Merest in right of his wife shall have first choice of one third part together with the housing orchard and pasture ground.

      231. RICHARD GIBSON humbly complaining sheweth that JONAH REVET at the time
      of his death stood indebted to the Plt the sum of six thousand and cask by bill and account .. he hath brought his action against HENRY MEREST who intermarried with the relict and administratrix of the said Revet .. And now forasmuch as Richard Gibson did not appear in this Court to prosecute his action Therefore tis ordered Richard Gibson shall be nonsuite and shall pay Henry Merest the sum fifty pounds of tobacco with costs.

      234. WILLIAM BUCKNER complains against JONAH REVET in a plea of debt ., the
      sum of four hundred and twenty pounds of tobacco due per bill .. And Jonah Revet the defendant by HENRY MEREST his attorney came into Court and confessed Judgment unto JOHN WITHERS the then appointed attorney of William Buckner for the said sum .. Therefore tis ordered that Jonah Revet shall make present payment of the said sum ..
