      THIS INDENTURE made the 4th day of July in the year of our Lord 1687 Between RICHARD MATHEWS and ELIZABETH his Wife of the one part and GILES MATHEWS of the other part Witnesseth that the abovesd RICHARD MATHEWS and ELIZABETH his Wife for good causes and considerations thereunto moving have sold unto GILES MATHEWS aforesd. a certaine parcel of land lying on the North side of Rappa: River about two or three miles from the sd River side the sd land being given to the sd RICHARD by WM: SERGEANT, late of Rappa: County deced, which by his last Will more at large appeare conteyning One hundred acers besides the Plantation according to the tenure of the above Will all which parcell of land with the Plantation houses and fences and appertinances thereunto belonging wee the abovesd RICHARD and ELIZABETH have sold from us our heires unto the abovesd GILES MATHEWS his heires forever In Witness whereof wee hereunto sett our hands and seales this sixth of July 1687 Sealed and delivered in the presence of us

      TO ALL PEOPLE to whom these present writings shall come I RICHARD MATHEWS and ELIZABETH my Wife of Cittenburne Parish in County of Rappa send Greeting Know yee that I RICHARD MATHEWS and ELIZABETH as abovesd for Four thousand and five hundred pounds of Tobacco and Caske in hand already reced from RICHARD SHIPWAY SENR of the same County path sold unto RICHARD SHIPWAY his heirs one hundred and fifty acres of land part of a tract conteyning Three hundred acres of land as by Patent doth appears and by the sd HALL conveyed to Mr. SPICER his heirs and I the sd RICHARD MATHEWS in termaried with the Daughter of the sd SPICER, further I the sd RICHARD MATHEWS and ELIZABETH my Wife have granted One hundred and fifty acres of land lying on OCCUPATION CREEK in Cittenburne Parish in Rappa County on South side the Creek begining at a white Oake corner tree on the Creek next to JOHN WILLIAMS so runing for breadth on the Creek side extending itself parallel thereunto North East as by Patent appears, further sd RICHARD MATHEWS and ELIZABETH my Wife do warrant the abovesd One hundred and fifty acres of land unto RICHARD SHIPWAY SENR his heirs from any person whatsoever, and further I RICHARD MATHEWS and ELIZABETH my Wife to acknowledge the same at the next Court held for Rappa County if required In Witness we have sett our hands and seals this 22nd day of May 1690

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that wee RICHD. MATHEWS and ELIZABETH MATHEWS of County of Rappa do for themselves our heirs for the valuable consideracon of Forty Shillings to us in hand paid by JOHN ALEXANDER of the same County make over from us our heirs unto sd JOHN ALEXANDER his heirs & assigns all that Platt of ground being an ISLAND or Peninsula adjoining to & fronting of our land that we now live on and enjoy and extending between the Marshes by a Tongue or point of land unto the Main Creek of OCCUPACE that is to say that ISLAND and only that ISLAND with the skirts of sunken ground marshes and creeks thereunto adjoining and belonging secured from the Maine and rest of our devident of land To him the sd JOHN ALEXANDER his heirs and assigns To have and to hold the sd ISLAND and appertanences with all woods ways from us our heirs in lee simple forever it being that ISLAND whereon groweth a GREAT PINE TREE Witness our hands and seales this 3rd day of Augt. 1691
