      THIS INDENTURE made the twenty fifth day of November in the twenty
      fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain France & Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c., And in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & fifty; Between SABELLA ELLIOTT of County of Westmorland, Widow, of one part and RICHD: BARNES, of County of RICHMOND, Gentleman, of other part; Witnesseth that in consideration of the natural life & affection which said SABELLA hath and beareth to her several Daughters herein after particularly mention'd, as also for the sum of Five pounds currt. money to sd. SABELLA ELLIOTT in hand paid by RICHARD BARNES, the receipt whereof she doth hereby acknowledge, bath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto sd. BARNES his heirs all that tract of land being in Parish of Washington in County of Westmorland containing by estimation One hundred and ninety acres, be the same more or less, formerly purchased by JOHN HIGGINS of JOHN BUTTON, from from sd. HIGGINS descended to PENELOPE, his Daughter, late Wife of DANIEL McCARTY, Gent., deceased, by whose death the same became vested in SABELLA ELLIOTT, And all houses orchards, profits & appurtenances to the land & premisses belonging; To have and to hold the parcel of land and appurtenances unto RICHD: BARNES his heirs to the general uses, intents & purposes hereinafter particularly expressed and to no other, that is to say, to the use and behoof of said SABELLA ELLIOTT during the term of her natural life without impeachment for any manner of waste and from and after the decease of SABELLA ELLIOTT to the use and behoof of MARTHA ELLIOTT, Daughter of SABELLA ELLIOTT and the heirs of her body to be begotten, And for default of such heirs of her body, to the use and behoof of BETTY ELLIOTT, another Daughter of SABELLA ELLIOTT and the heirs of her body to be begotten, and for default of such heirs of her body, then to the use & behoof of MILLIE ELLIOT, also Daughter of SABELLA ELLIOT, and the heirs of her body to be begotten.       THIS INDENTURE made the 24th and 25th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty one Between JOHN LINTON and BETTY his Wife of the County of Prince William of one part and ELIJAH WICKLIFF of the said County of other part Witnesseth that for the sum of Eighty pounds current money they the said JOHN LINTON and BETTY his Wife have sold unto said ELIJAH WICKLIFF his heirs and assigns forever All that plantation and parcel of land and Marsh containing Two hundred &Seventy acres being in the said County of Prince William on the POTOMACK RIVER including COCK PITT POINT MARSH joining the lands of GEORGE BRETT, ROBERT WICKLIFF, ARTHUR BLAND, HOSSINGTONs PATENT, WILLIAM ELLZEY and the POTOMACK RIVER and is part of a parcel of land granted from the PROPRIETORS OFFICE unto MARK CHELTON & WILLIAM LINTON for Seven hundred and fifty acres of Marsh bearing date the 26th day of March one thousand seven hundred and Thirty (the said WILLIAM LINTON being Father to the said JOHN LINTON party to these presents and Survived MARK CHILTON the Partner) Together with all houses and profits thereof To Have and To Hold the said land and premises to the said ELIJAH WICKLIFF his heirs and assigns and the said JOHN LINTON and his Wife BETTY freely discharged and kept harmlesi against all former Executions made by said JOHN LINTON and BETTY his Wife and by WILLIAM LINTON the Father to the said JOHN and by their heirs. Know ye that we trusting to your Fedility in privately examining BETTY LINTON Wife of JOHN LINTON gent. of your County touching her consent to execute certain Deeds of Lease and Release to ELIJAH WICKLIFF and in receiving the acknowledgement of the said BETTY LINTON her consent being first given her Examination and acknowledgement thereupon to the Justices of our County Court of Prince William on the first Monday in August next you shall distinctly return and Certify to this Writ annexed Witness JOHN GRAHAM Clerk of our said Court the 25th day of June in the third year of our Reign 1763
