      Item. I give unto Jane Willis, Mary White, Sarah Ford, Betty Terril, Jane Lathy, Betty Carter and Anne Proctor ten pounds currency to each and I acquit every of them and Mary Florence of all debts.

      I William ROWLEY of county of Kinge George Gentleman, being of sound and disposing mind...give to my wife the use and occupation of the house and plantation where I now live until the house is repaired where my lived before our marriage.. I give my Brother Moses ROWLEY the grist mill and land where he now lives.. then to my sister Anne MARDERS . . .. unto James ARMSTRONG an equal moiety of lands I purchased of Jno Simpson and William Grigsby..unto my wife the land I bought of Simon Thomas for the term of ten years.. after term I give to George ARMSTRONG for life if he should return to this colony.. give my wife one thousand weight of port early until she can raise stocks sufficient for herself....to Elizabeth Armstrong the wife of Thomas Armstrong the land and plantation where she lives purchased of Jno Grigsby.. at her death to her son James Armstrong to William Armstrong the used of two negroes..unto Samuel Marders the remaining moiety of the lands purchased of Jno Simpson and William Grigsby...unto Aaron Marders....unto Moses Marders.. give unto my Exors. the separate use of Gwene Owenes the wife Richard Owens... unto James Davis the land and plantation where he lives..unto Blanch Davis, Elizabeth David and Lucy Davis daughter of Samuel and Barbara Davis two hundred pounds current money to each..unto Rowley SMITH the sum of ten pounds and whereas I sold unto Joseph SMITH a negro woman and two children for who he agreed to pay me ninety pounds which is still due...my will Joseph pay unto William SMITH and Thomas SMITH the sum of thirty pounds. unto Anne Arnold ten pounds..unto Letice Wishart wife of the Revd Mr Jno Wishart the land and plantation where I now live.. also the land I purchased of Jno Lunsford. unto Lettice Wishard and Catherine Taylor wife of Capt Richard Taylor. fortt six negroes named unto Elizabeth Armstrong the wife of Thos Armstrong 300 acres of land I bought of John Grigsby during her life remaining to her son James Amstrong... appoint Revd.       THIS INDENTURE made the Fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight Between MICHAEL WALLACE and LETTIS his Wife of County of King George and RICHARD TAYLOR of County of CAROLINE Gentlemen, and CATHARINE his Wife of the one part & JAMES DAVIS of County of King George of other part, Whereas WILLIAM ROWLEY lately deceased in his lifetime purchased of MADGELAIN DONIPHAN eighty acres of Land in the County of STAFFORD for the consideration of Eighty pounds and had the fee simple Estate in the said Land conveyed unto him and her heirs by Deeds of Lease and Release bearing date the thirteenth and fourteenth days of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Sixty two as by the said Deeds of Record in the County Court of STAFFORD may appear. And Whereas the said WILLIAM ROWLEY being seized in fee of the said Land departed this life on or about the (blank) day of (blank) 1774 (according to the Will Book. 11th of May 1774) having first made his Last Will and Testament in writing whereby he gave all the rest of his Estate real and personal (after sundry Legacies and Bequests before given) unto the said LETTIS WALLACE, then LETTIS WISHART, the Wife of the Reverend JOHN WISHART, since deceased, and to CATHARINE TAYLOR, Wife of the said RICHARD TAYLOR and their heirs as by the said Will of Record in the County of King George may appear; And whereas the said MICHAEL WALLACE and LETTIS his Wife and RICHARD TAYLOR and CATHARINE his Wife have agreed to sell the tract of land unto JAMES DAVIS for the consideration herein after mentioned; THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that MICHAEL WALLACE and LETTIS his Wife and RICHARD TAYLOR and CATHARINE his Wife for sum of Forty pounds to them in hand paid by JAMES DAVIS by these presents do bargain and sell unto JAMES DAVIS and his heirs all that tract of land situate in County of King George, formerly STAFFORD, containing Eighty acres, Begining at a read Oak corner to CATHERINE HOLEBROOKs Land, thence dividing this from her Lan dN NE 116 po to a Stake in an Old Field, thence dividing this Land from NATHANIEL JEFFERIES Et. S. Et. 110 poles to a Hickory, thence dividing this land from BRYANT FOLIEs South South West 116 po. to a read Oak, finally Wt, N. Wt. 110 poles to the begining, being part of Three hundred and fifty five acres of Land the back part of a Patent of Eight hundred acres granted to DAVID ANDERSON SENR, by Patent dated the 27 day of April 1668, Together with all houses rights members and appurtenances to the same belonging; To have and to hold the tract of land and premises with appurtenances unto JAMES DAVIS his heirs, and MICHAEL WALLACE and LETTIS his Wife and RICHARD TAYLOR and CATHARINE his Wife for themselves their heirs the tract of Land iSc premises unto JAMES DAVIS his heirs against the claim of every person shall warrant_ and forever defend ; In Witness whereof the said MICHAEL WALLACE and LETTIS his Wife and RICHARD TAYLOR and CATHARINE his Wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day & year above written Sealed and Delivered in presence of JOSEPH JONES to RT &C T JOHN TALIAFERRO MICHAEL WALLACE LEITIS WALLACE
