      William Lindsay's Will. Feb 16, 1779.
July 7, 1776. 1, William Lindsay, of CC, am very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory.
I desire that all my lands wherewith I am possessed or have title to, viz, (a tract of land called Bridgetts Delight, containing 63 acres by patent; also another tract of land called Distress, containing 47 acres and part of a tract of land called Simpsons Delight, containing 15 acres) be sold by my Executor to enable her, together with my movable estate, to pay my debts. But as the situation of the times are such at present that sales of land cannot be made (unless it being greatly to the sellers disadvantage) my will is that Mr. Robert Mundell (factor for Glassford and Co.) have full power to receive the annual rent of the afd lands until sold and apply sd rents to the discharging my debt contracted with sd Mundell.
To my children - in general a free privilege of my pew in Portobacco Church.
To my children, viz, Ann, Celeney, Theodecit and Ethuldra - the rest of my estate (if any) after my just debts are paid, to be equally divided between them.
      Executrix; my daughter Ann.
Signed - Will Lindsay. Wit - Jno Chapman, John Clements, James Russell.
Probated on Feb 16, 1779 by John Clements and James Russell, two of the subscribing witnesses.
