      Charles County Land Record Book L#3, 1761-1765; Page 565. Oct 4, 1764 from Thomas Higdon, Abraham Higdon, and John the Baptis Higdon of CC, to Thomas Hencock of CC, for 6000 lbs of crop tobacco, a tract of land in CC called Berrias, being part of a tract of land called Bettys Delight, bounded by the parcel of land commonly called Berries, containing and laid out for about 100 acres. Signed - Thomas (X his mark) Higdon Sr, Abraham (X his mark) Higdon, John ye Baptist (X his mark) Higdon. Wit - Jno Winter*, Geo Dent*, Robt Horner, William Scott. Recorded Nov 29, 1764.

      Mar. 3, 1753 - Mr. Richard Edelen came to a small branch that runs by Mr. Isaac Campbell's house and said that at the time he wright [sic] Abraham Lemaster's will that the said Lemaster pointed this branch whereon I stand and said that branch divided between his son John and his daughter and grand daughter and said at the same time that them hills pointing over this branch said that was Berrys Land and said that there was about 100 acres to be divided between his daughter and grand daughter, in presence of us William Higdon, ... Thomas Higdon, Jr., Trueman Higdon, ... Richard Higdon, Ignatius Higdon, Benjamin Higdon, ....

      Apr. 1760 - The Charles Co., Md. administration account of Richard Bennett Boarman shows that Boarman's estate made a payment to Thomas Higdon, Jr.

      Mar. 1763 - Robert Horner vs. John Higdon, Jr. Thomas Higdon and Abraham Higdon bind themselves to Robert Horner in the sum of 23 pounds, 4 shillings, 4 pence currency, the condition of this obligation being that if the said Robert Horner do obtain judgment in an action of debt pending in Charles County Court against John Higdon, Jr., that the said John Higdon, Jr. shall pay the judgment of the Court or deliver himself into the custody of the Sheriff or they will do it for him.

      May 28, 1768 - James Simson, Phidelmus Simes, John Simes and Thomas Higdon confess judgment to John and James Jamieson for the sum of 6776 lbs. of crop tobacco and 45/8/10 currency debt and 274 lbs. of transfer tobacco costs which sums were recovered by John and James Jamieson against James Simson in March Court last, said sums to be levied against them in case James Simson shall not pay John and James Jamieson the aforesaid sums, with additional costs thereon, by Feb. 10 next.
