      I, John Forbes of Benedict of CC, being sick of body, but of sound and perfect memory and understanding;
      To wife Elizabeth Forbes, all my estate real, personal and mixed, all debts due and owing to me whether on open account or in bonds, notes mortages, leases or any other lawful obligatory writing.
      To son John Forbes, my broach and sleeve buttons.
      To son George Forbes, my gold watch.
      As my worldly transactions are both intricate and numerous, I recommend that my son John Forbes be employed to aid and assist in the settlement of my affairs

      At the request of Samuel Bond & Elizabeth Forbes the following Marriage Contract was recorded August 17, 1807
      Indenture of 4 parts made June 8, 1807, between Samuel Bond of Prince George's County, Maryland of the 1st part, Elizabeth Forbes of CC of the 2nd part, Thomas Marshall of Marshall Hall and John Forbes of CC of the 3rd part, and James Forbes, John Forbes, George Forbes, James Forbes Sothoron, and Rebecca Ann Maria Sothoron his wife, Jane Forbes and Elizabeth Forbes all our children of Elizabeth Forbes first above named of the 4th part. Whereas a marriage is agreed upon and intended to be shortly and solemnized between Samuel Bond and Elizabeth Forbes and that all the estate as well real and personal belonging to Elizabeth Forbes either in law or in equity should be conveyed to Thomas Marshall and John Forbes to the uses upon the trusts for the intents and purposes and subject to the powers provisions declarations and agreements herein after limited expressed and declared. Now this indenture witnesseth that in pursuance and performance of the said above mentioned agreement and in consideration of the intended marriage and for conveying settling and assuring all the estate as well real and personal in law or equity of Elizabeth Forbes in consideration of 5 dollars and in consideration of the natural love and affection which Elizabeth Forbes has to her aforesaid children and for diverse other good causes and valuable considerations her Elizabeth Forbes hereunto moving has sold unto Thomas Marshall and John Forbes the lands tenements and hereditaments lying in CC, St. Mary's County, Maryland and Prince George's County, Maryland and also all the Negroes horses cattle sheep and hogs household and other furniture money tobacco produce merchandise stock in trade debts accounts claims and demands dues and other chattels and personal property possessed claimed by due and owing to her in trust so that they can pay off all debts and owing for which she is liable on her own account or on account of her late deceased husband and the residue after paying 2000 dollars to Samuel Bond to be distributed to her children party of the 4th part.       Whereas Alexander Greer, Thomas Price Sr., Samuel Chapman, Samuel Hawkins and Horatio Clagett have by the mutual consent of all the parties concerned acted as commissioners in the division of real estate of Dr. Daniel Jenifer, deceased and have a portion to each representative the lands hereafter designated as their respective portion of the said real estate that is to say, "Rose Hill" with all the appurtenances to be the property of John B. Morris, the lands known by the name of "The Retreat" and plantation to be the property of Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer. The lands in Nanjemoy known by the names of "Maryland Point", "Chearman's Purchase", "Freehold" and "Meeks Park" to be the property of Daniel Jenifer. The rest or remainder of the lands in Nanjemoy which Dr. Daniel Jenifer died possessed to be the property of Mariamne C. Jenifer and the lands known by the name of "Panquiah" {sic Panguya] estate to be the property of Walter H. Jenifer to which division as aforesaid and each of us agree and bind ourselves our heirs and assigns to be governed by the same and do mutually acquit each other and their heirs or assigns from any claims or claims to any part of portion of said estate real estate as divided by the commissioners.       At the foot of the aforegoing instrument of writing is thus written, to wit;
      Whereas Mariamne C. Jenifer now Mariamne C. Forbes my wife cannot from her not being of age in or into a legal or binding agreement herself. This is intended to bind myself as heir executors administrators and assigns in the sum of $20,000 current money of the United States to be paid to the aforesaid representatives in case of her refusing to make over her right title and interest to each representative or the heirs or assigns whenever she may arrive to the age of 21 for the performance of which I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the day and year before written, George Forbes in the presence of Samuel Ogden, Horatio Clagett
